[ROM] Team Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.2.2 - Moray [9/10/11]

When you're looking at the quick toggles, slide them to the left. The button you're hitting is the notification silencer.

I am running 2.2.0 and want to know how to just flash 2.2.1 over 2.2.0 without a factory reset. IF anyone can help, thanks.

If you are running 2.2.0 already and want to flash 2.2.1 you should not need to do a factory reset. I would still recommend you perform a full backup.

I flashed 2.2.1 over 2.2.0 without any issues.

So copy 2.2.1 zip on your external SD, reboot recovery, install Zip from sd card...

That's it

Bad news :(

Hello,
I have some problems with this ROM on my Xoom 3G EU:

Another problem I've got with Moray _and_ Hammerhead: after some days of usage the unit reboots, starts, reboots, starts,...
I've found out that this is a Wifi-problem: the unit works without any problems a few days, but then suddenly it starts to reboot when it say's "getting IP-address..." on wifi. This is one of about nine Wifi-units @home (three other Android-devices with Froyo and Gingerbread), and it's the only one with this strange behaviour, so I can definitely say that it is a problem with honeycomb.
When I restart my wifi-router it works again for a few days, then the problem is coming back. wiping does not help.

Perhaps I've found the problem: no reboot the last four days after I set Wifi to "2.4GHz only".

This did not solved the problem. Today the problem occured again :(
Next try is to set wifi-settings manually. We'll see...

Hey guys. I need some help. I am on stock rooted 3.2 and just got an SD today. The weird thing that I noticed is that the /sdcard directory is actually the internal memory and the sdcard data is at mnt/internal1. With that said, I put this Tiamat rom on the SD card so I can flash it (I have CWMrecovery...the one from the app not the one in the DEV section) but when I go to recovery CWM thinks that /sdcard is the SD card when in actuallity the tiamat zip is in mnt/internal1. How do I get through this? I'm not flashing anything till I can do a nandroid saved to the sdcard...but if CWM recovery doesn't acknowledge the sdcards actual directory I can't do squat!

If you are using the correct version of CWM, it knows to find the zip files on the external SD. It sounds like you are using the wrong version. Go here to get the correct version of CWM.

You can also go here for all sorts of guides and information to get up and running.

Problem is I have no idea how to get the "correct" RECOVERY flashed. If I boot into CWM recovery (which is what I have) it won't recognize the SD CARD so I can't flash the recovery. And I don't understand this second method...perhaps you can walk me through it?

Method 2 Without CWM
Download the recovery image (not the zip file)

Pull up your command prompt, then

Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery-solarnz-XXXXXX-XXXX.img
fastboot reboot
Let your Xoom boot up. Then to check out your shiny new recovery,

Code:
adb reboot recovery

OK using ADB will be your best bet to getting the correct version of CWM installed. Under the second link I sent you you will find links to several guides. Follow the one called "A Real Guide On Using ADB/Fastboot On Your Xoom By okantomi of XDA"

This should get you started with ADB and get the right CWM installed.

To summarize very briefly you will be downloading and installing the Motorola drivers and the Android SDK onto your computer. Then once those applications/drivers are installed you will download the CWM image to your PC. Then connect the Xoom to the PC and by entering commands on your PC you will flash the CWM image onto your Xoom.

I know it is written all over these guides, but make sure you only flash img files and NEVER a zip file.

Follow these guides and you should be set.

ok guys, correct me if I'm wrong, I just flashed this, but I thought this rom allowed saving apps to the SD card? Am I mistaken?

Unrelated question...can you guys advise if there is a special version of swype for tablets? If not, what keyboards are you guys using?

Tablets with large amounts of internal storage are not configured like phones, which often have only a minimum of internal storage so that the external sdcard becomes vital for app storage. I'm guessing this might be your first android tablet.Anyway, some apps can save data to the external sdcard if you point it to the right place.I don't know of any apps that would run properly from external sdcard.

Re Swype, my understanding is that HC three.two is a higher resolution than the beta tablet version of the app and they haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

I use the Hacker's keyboard mostly and for swiping I use flexT9.

Thanks for the clarification. You're right this is my first android tablet. My phone is a EVO so I'm used to every APK and Dalvik going on the SD. I guess its cool that we can at least keep nandroids, pics and movies on the SD.

In regards to this hackers keyboard where exactly can I find that?

Disregard...right in the Market place...it sounded so sophisticated I thought I was going to have to custom make it for myself.

The Xoom has 32GB of internal storage, which is shared between user applications and data stored in /data.

Why would you ever want to store applications in the non-standard path? (I.e on the external sdcard or /sdcard)

    Release Notes

    2.2.2 Release Notes
Yet another update for the rom. Quite a few changes this time.

As usual, this can be flashed cleanly over 2.2.1.

    -- solarnz.

    2.2.1 Release Notes
You are able to flash 2.2.1 over 2.2.0 as it is mainly just bug fixes.

    -- solarnz.

    2.2.0 Release Notes
Boy has it been a busy last 2 weeks.

I have built a build system where we now do the majority of our coding in java. Yep java, not smali.
We now have quick controls, in the status bar settings menu.

This rom is mainly just a feature release. Unfortuantly if you had any issues regarding gmail in hammerhead, you will likely get the same issues in this release.

This rom is also still based of 3.2. Yeah I know I said I would be doing 3.2.2, but things change.
    -- solarnz.

    Version 1.0 - 3g fix
    • Fixed permissions in /system/bin. This was causing issues with 3g connections.
    • Replaced framework-res.apk with a less modified version. There is no SIP calling and sms now, but the activation screens work now.

    Tips

Automatically installing applications when you flash the rom:
In the zip file, under the directory "data" there is a directory called "tiamat_first_boot_install". You can place all of your apk files that you want installed when you first boot in there. This is useful for applications such as Thumb Keyboard and Titanium Backup

    Moray 2.2 Modpacks
All of these mod packs can be flashed over the top of an existing Moray installation unless advised otherwise.

Wow! I can just feel the love in here! Permit me to give just a little perspective on why "theming" has been such a challenge on Honeycomb. First, neither myself or solarnz are themers. I am anything but an artist. So generally, we don't design the icons or other theming aspects. But, before folks start to slam the battery or wifi too hard, keep in mind. These were designed for us by Bignadad himself. He is a legendary themer and even has work in the Android Market. Second, it is not our intent to theme our rom releases. However, we desired to clean up some aspects of the ui while maintaining a stock look and feel. Honeycomb natively has this kinda "Tron" thing going on, as another poster put it. I agree the Tron thing doesn't really work for me either. But the icons we added maintain the stock Tron concept. It's an ongoing adventure for us as well as you guys, the users. The good news is, we are implementing a nightlys folder so these issues can be addressed in real time. As always, thanks for the support! Keep the feedback coming, but try to keep it constructive. If you don't like an icon, post up something you do like. If you don't dig a feature, tell us what you would do to change it. If you find a bug, post up a logcat. Remember, this is a community effort. Everything we do, we do from the aspect of making Xoom the ultimate Honeycomb tablet. The goal ultimately of making Tiamat Xoom the most badass tablet on the planet. Period. Cheers!
