Well in my guide, at the top I highly recommending backing up and starting fresh with a clean stock ROM (I posted) and then running Bear.Hey guys, if there's a way to get RID of this S-OFF, I'm welcome to hear it. I want my warranty back and think I have pretty much messed up my phone. WiFi doesn't work, it gives "Error" when I try to turn it on, and stuff. I want to get it fixed without going to the HTC Service Centre... and I want to get back the stock S-ON bootloader, not JuopunutBear. Please help.
Oh, and auggie2k, a possible reason why I'm getting the wifi error may be because your rooted ROM version is 3.32.401.3, while my stock version is 3.32.707.110. I think the 3rd set of numbers makes a difference. So where do I get a stock ROM that's my version?

Probably a mis-match between kernel and wifi module... just use an RRU to return to (mostly) stock. You will still be S-OFF, but everything else will be stock. Also being S-OFF isn't really a reason for HTC to refuse you a warranty claim.
I sent my Nexus One to HTC to be repaired, and it came back from them as S-OFF (it was S-ON when I sent it, as no-one had bothered figuring out how to S-OFF them 'til recently).
Brilliant guide, well done.

I don't have time to search for the post and link it right now. But one XDA member posted in this thread or the thread in development that they did the HTC Dev unlock again after gaining S-off Juopunutbear. And they stated they were unlocked after doing the HTC Dev unlock again. What is interesting is that even though you are S-OFF, Fastboot Commander will fail to flash anything since phone is locked. Kinda defy the S-OFF procedure, don't you think?

If you can boot into Hboot ypou are not bricked. Boot to Hboot and select fastboot and then use either fast boot commands to flash the boot.img and system.img again.
What are the exact commands and where do I find those 2 images? I don't have them. Thanks.
Both can be found in the ROM's .zip file. Just extract the contents of the .zip file and you will find them. I do apologize as the system is not a .img file but just a regular file named system.
It is not 100% necessary to wipe and start fresh but I expect most other users to be changing ROM's after gaining S-OFF (because you can change your CID). As I said at the start, it's based on my own experience and I always prefer to start fresh with a new ROM unless upgrading. Just flash this in Recovery as you would any normal ROM. I also suggest downloading and running SuperWipe before hand.======== ControlBear version 0.2 for JuopunutBear S-OFF ==========

Why is my security still on (S-On) after I have unlocked my bootloader?
Your device is shipped with Security on (S-ON) to protect your system software configuration (such as the bootloader, radio, boot, recovery, system and others). After you have unlocked the bootloader, however, you will have lifted the restrictions on boot, recovery and system. This means you can customize boot, recovery and system images on your phone as you desire. You can easily see that you have successfully unlocked the bootloader by looking at the top of the screen when entering the bootloader screen. Security is left on to protect things like the radio, and SIM lock.
If you have got to the point of the Wire-Trick, ROM's and Roots are irrelevant because you are well past that. It's just timing. I've done a little GIF for the best timing of the contact. Hope this helps youI used several things, like paperclips, wire from a little old computer fan, but the best thing so far seems to be insulated wire used to wrap cables what comes with new electric stuff... And then take some platic of both ends...
I've tried 100 times now.
The fact that I am this far means that there are now problems withs roms and roots etc, am I correct? (I used ARHD, not the stock rom)
