When I place the animation in the /system/media folder I get the default silver "Android" text animation. I've tried both flashing and manual installs, but no dice. I'm sure that the stock animation is in the /system/media folder. I'm on CM10 beta (the same rom as bryyte). Can anybody help? Please?

same happened to me. you have to make sure the .ZIP isn't capitalized I think but I know you have to change the permissions of the boot to rw- r-- r--.. it doesn't play it if not.
download the edit by purple fries.. something is wrong with the original.

and yes, cm10 does boot in phones with that resolution

Will this work for Samsung galaxy gio running on CM9 if so how i flash this zip in details thanks and which file i should download Amoled black version or light version with a 320x480 resoultion
PS. I try to install using clockworkmod but it said installnation aborted any idea how to do it other way

Know this is dated, but hate the official bootanimation, so. I flashed this via TWRP, and it looks so much nicer. Smooth frames as well. Running CM10 Stable with KKO Kernel.

Manually.
1. Extract the zip file;
2. Copy the bootanimation.zip file to /System/Media

CyanogenMod 10 or CMX - how you like. It's here, it's fast and it needs a bootanimation.
Here it is. Unofficial CM10 (CMX) bootanimation for XHDPI/HDPI/MDPI and tablet resolutions - 1280x800/1024x600.
There are slight differences between phone and tablet versions, nothing big tho.
Phone versions clocked to 25 frames per second.
Tablet versions clocked to 30 frames per second.
Animation was done in After Effects. All used colors are from official Google Android ICS pallet.

Ok, Here are some quick ports for QHD resolution. If the OP has any problems with this, just ask me and i will kindly take the links down :good:

I see you don't have a LDPI version and since an (unofficial) release for a LDPI device is almost ready, I've allowed myself to make a "port" of the INV one (which I prefer). I hope this doesn't trouble you and I'd really appreciate if you could work a proper LDPI version of both normal and inverted to replace my ugly attempt of a port.
