Re: [GUIDE]Step by Step to root

Thanks alot!
Just a question: Doesn't install cwm through odin make your custom binary increase?
If so, I think it should be mensioned in the text.

Haha I was just talking to my self and saying that something is missing okay I will edit thank you.

Re: [GUIDE]Step by Step to root

Exactly like kicker63 said...the root file doesn't have samsung signature which means it can't be flashed except in CWM since it can avoid the sig. Thing

Yes, and if you have cwm you are probably already rooted :D
Otherwise you'll have a custom binary count of at least 1 :/

It should be noted with big letters in the OP that this method increases your flash counter. And that at the moment there is no way to zero it.

And just a comment, this method has already been posted, here.

If you refer to "dd" method you'll need to have root already to execute those commands via terminal. Might work through ADB without rooted device. Not really sure 'bout that.
Only known method (as far as I know) to get root without increased custom binary count is still to flash pre-rooted rom through odin.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: [GUIDE]Step by Step to root

Yes, and the root method in that thread is as I said, to flash a pre-rooted rom.
There is no other known way for the moment, if you still want to keep your binary count at zero. :(

What I meant was that this method can install the cwm recovery without vinary count...right?

And then you can flash it by shaan root file and by that way you will not (I think and theoretically) lose binary count

"dd" command doesn't increase binary count, thats right. But you need to be rooted already to be able to..

"I recommend you flash this recovery with dd and not Odin/heimdall after rooting with the system.img method"

I downloaded file from step 1 and I should unzip it but that file is not zipped file it is:

    recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.7-golden.tar.md5

    is it allready unzipped?

    p.s does it work with I8190 - XXAMG4 ?

Will this work on XXAML1 , thanks.

    Sent from my GT-I8190N

Just put the *.tar.md5 in PDA in ODIN.
    Method works for all versions.
Just one thing..it's better if you flash latest version of recovery instead of that one. This thread havn't been updated in a long time.
Search for Philz recovery or TWRP2.7.
