Re: [MOD][SCRIPT] Superwipe Script & Kernel Cleaner Script

Wtf this is nonsense
I just lost A LOT of precious files cuz of the fcing superwipe script. I thought it only wiped the rom.
Now Im in the same problem than some people before, I have no roms on the sd (obviously, EVERYTHING is gone) and I cant mount the tablet on the pc to put a rom there.
I dont really see the point on having such a retard script, if I wanted to format sd, I can do it in a hundred ways.
This is only making people mad, instead of helping anyone.

Sorry if I sound rude, Im just quite pissed off.

Boot to recovery then side load a rom zip via adb

I don't blame you for being mad, this issue should definitely be stated in the first post...

I tried to put factory google image with the v4.0.0 toolkit. It keeps giving errors each time it tried to erase or flash any partition. I had to ctrl+c to abort installation cuz it stucked at "erasing boot". Hope it didnt touch the bootloader partition or I will have hard bricked my device.
Right now it is inside the cwm recovery, which keeps showing error: Cant Open "log file".

Im gonna try to adb sideload a rom right now. If this fails I dont really know what to do...

So... external storage is the same as internal virtual sdcard right?
Wtf, you kidding me?
Anyways, what other options do I have. Will the recovery work if I adb push my rom to the empty sdcard and simply flash it with the recovery? Or will it show that "cant open /cache/recovery/log" ?

EDIT:
ROM installed just fine with adb sideload, it opened aroma and installed everything just fine. Now it doesnt boot, it stays on google logo and auto reboots into the google logo again.
At least bootloader boots just fine

Aint there some kind of smartflashtool or odin? Something that flashes the rom trhu bootloader?
Im not at home atm so I cant try, but I really need the tablet tomorrow morning...

Just download the stock image from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Extract the archive (on windows i used 7zip). Inside that you'll find bootloader-grouper-4.18.img(bootloader image, if you are on a lower version, flash in with fastboot flash bootloader imgname.img), and a zip file.
In the zip you'll fine 3 image files (userdata.img, system.img, boot.img)
Flash the system partition with fastboot flash system system.img

Then flash the kernel with fastboot flash boot boot.img

If you want to wipe all the data in your /sdcard folder, falso flash userdata with fastboot flash user data userdata.img

EDIT: sorry i misunderstood you, i thought you wanted to flash stock ROM.
The only other suggestion i have is to check if the ROM zip file has a similar structure

I just did it!
Installed back my loved AOKP.
I used Wug's toolkit to flash back factory image. But I had to put the adb and fastboot exe's and some dll's from the new 4.2.2. I think thats the reason cuz none of the toolkits were working, they were ready for 4.2.1. Not sure tho
Oh well, thank you guys for the support, I hope the OP puts a big warning in the download, or better yet, modify the script to not wipe the internal sd.

One positive to take from this is hopefully you will examine any script before you run it. I wouldn't trust what anyone says with what a script does, I'd at least check the script to see what it does before running it. Simply not worth losing stuff in the possible low percentage situation you might lose important stuff/everything from running something you can see what it does before running it and not actually doing said examination.

So... This things doesn't work on nexus 7 3g? I think the second script could be better if wipe only internal, cache, dalvik? If throughly wipe off the whole device sdcard why not I just have a factory image restore?

I've added a warning in the OP that the superwipe cleans the internal storage.

This is what it's designed to do. To clean up all the useless files associated with the previous rom. The script is for users that want a totally clean internal storage. And a lot of us do.

Also remember, this is a Development forum. It's expected the users flashing these mods, be a little educated on android and what they're getting into. Also, how to restore their data when things go bad, or to prevent getting into that situation to begin with.

There are apps that back up data, lots of them on the market.

If you can't deal with these issues, then it's probably better not to install these programs to begin with.

So NO, I'm not going to close the thread, nor remove the links. The script does exactly what it was designed for.

To the guy with the borked n7 , use wugs nexus toolkit and get it rerooted, recovery etc...no need to sideload

Very easy.it does all the work.

On a nexus 4 there is no removable storage. Emulated SD card. Will this scrip wipe my download folder out too?

Basically, once you run this script you have to side load a ROM?

Sorry for the newbie question but I don't want to try this and get stuck with no ROM to load from my download folder. Lol

MOD NOTE: Be advised the superwipe script WILL wipe your internal storage. It's designed that way to wipe all the useless clutter that accumulates. If you don't know what you are doing, then don't flash it.

I have decided to post the wipe scripts here for those KernelHolics & Flashaholics that are flashing kernels and ROMs constantly. I've made small modifications to these scripts FULL credit to the originator of them Credits below.

These are compatible with CWM, TWRP.

Since there have been numerous kernels recently being posted and people wondering what to wipe or what not to wiped here is the Kernel Cleaner.

    1. Place the file in the root of your /sdcard
    2. Flash Kernel Cleaner
    3. Flash/Fastboot Kernel
    4. Reboot.

    Download: http://d-h.st/BWy

This second script I'm sure everyone is familiar with SUPERWIPE script.

Tired of wiping after every ROM or not knowing what to wipe to flash a ROM and have a clean install? Just flash this script & flash ROM easy right?

    1. Place Wipe-Script in root of /sdcard
    2. Flash Wipe-Script
    3. Flash ROM
    4. Reboot.
    5. This will wipe external storage. (Wiping without storage coming soon)
    Download: http://d-h.st/MFS

    Debug

If it doesn't flash please tell me what recovery your using.

ONLY works for the NEXUS 7 NOT NEXUS 7 3G will be available for other devices as well.

The Kernel Cleaner will remove the kernel, modules, ramdisk, init.d. To nothing! You will have to flash a new kernel to install the modules and ramdisk again.

Yes, something u get more bugs flashing a kernel over another kernel or ROM this solves that problem. Its like getting a clean kernel install
