How about using a custom rom? KitKat already runs pretty nice on our phone ;)

My rom configuration

Thanks for the reply LS.XD. What are you running?

I'm on TwistedKat 2.4 // GApps 03152014minimal // IceCodeKernel March17th // SuperSU 1.93 // PhilZ advanced CWM 6.19.3

Running pretty fast ad stable :)

I recommend you gain S-OFF. That makes life much more easy ;)

You need HBOOT 2.15 if you want to use Android 4.4.2

---------- Post added at 03:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:36 PM ----------

That should be the easiest way to gain S-OFF :) --> http://rumrunner.us/

After that you can update your hboot to 2.15. Feel free to ask, if you need some assistance.

Thanks again for the help on this. Universial Rumrunner not working for me. Here is what happens:

Checking for updates......
Test 1: Rebooting into bootloader
Waiting for fastboot (12/120)
Waiting
Test 2: Booting device
Waiting for ADB (23/120)
must ferment longer...

must sanitize, skunky rum is nasty
hold please..............................................

My hopes were high it got a bit easier for you, as for me going S-OFF sometime ago. I used this method:

--> Facepalm S-OFF

It worked well for me BUT you have to read a bit. So if you're bored sometimes, just have a look :)

Ha. Got Rumrunner to run through to first pouring. The error, in case anyone has a similar problem, was caused by SuperSU blocking permission.

Now I'm getting to first pouring and then error:

pouring (1).......................
unfortunately this isn't going to work out with your configuration. you have 2
options:
1.) flash an unsecure kernel that's compatible with your ROM and retry rumrunner
(preferred and most reliable method).
2.) flash a different rom.
NOTE: No amount of messing around with su binaries and apk's is going to fix thi
s issue for you!!!.
Better luck next time!!!!bye
