Can't upgrade my P1000N?
Greetings -
I have a Galaxy Tab GT-P1000N. Firmware 2.2. Baseband P1000LVJJM9. Kernel 2.6.32.9 root@SEI-30 #1, Build FROYO.UBJJ1.
I've successfully upgraded other tabs (USA AT&T, USA T-Mobile) to Overcome using the instructions on their site. However, I cannot upgrade my P1000N at all.
I've tried to use Humberto's kernels - in fact I've tried all four of the Gingerbread kernels on humberos dot com's kernel-p1000l-p1000n.html page.
However, I can't read spanish, and I can't tell what I'm missing.
I can use Odin to restore my P1000N to stock, no problem.
However, when I use Odin to install ANY of the four kernels on the page shown, my display becomes completely garbled. Odin completes, and shows success, and the tab reboots, and I hear the female robot voice converting the system. However, during the conversion process the display is completely garbled. And AFTER the conversion process, the tab goes into a slow reboot loop and I have to force power off, force download mode, and ODIN back to stock... which puts be back where I am now, as shown above.
I didn't think I was a P1000 noob, but I certainly seem to be a P1000N noob, and I'm really sorry, but could somebody please tell me the steps, in order, to get from stock Froyo to Gingerbread Overcome on my P1000N? The OP on this thread suggests that I need to do the Kernel first, but I can't get any kernel to work. Could anyone please help me? I would be very appreciative.
Thank you!
Glen
