also if you want custom recovery ..

i made one....its working but its didnt rebooting..you need to hold power button to shut down then power on again...now im working on that

I find out. solved.

For anyone who look here. How to backup bootimg (boot.img)
Smart phone flash tool - Spflash

1a.Open flash tool
1b.Go to download
1c. Load scatter MT8127_Android_scatter.txt (scatter is in flash tool folder)
1.Go to Readback
2.Add - double click on line that appear
3.set name boot.img - save
4.Type: Hex
Region: EMMC_USER
Start Address: 0x1d80000
Lenght: 0x1000000
click OK
5.Click Readback
6.Turn off your pixi 7
7.connect via usb
8.Wait to finish.
9.Unplug
10.Power ON... that's it

Just and FYI on rooting.

I just picked up the Digital2 8 inch tablet that has the mt8127.

I used Kango root and it rooted it. Everything else failed to root it.

It seen it as an HTC Digitial2 and proceeded to root it.

It may not work for all mt8127's but it worked great for mine.

HELLO!!! sorry for bring back to life this old post! i have an ALCATEL PIXI 3 (7) 8056 MT8127 BRICKED! the screen never turn on after update with official Alcatel software, so i need your help, can someone bring me the complete rom so i can flash it with sptools??? i need scatter too! i have it bricked since april so im a bit desperate!
PD: When i connect the Tablet to PC it recognize the Mediatek USB Port, so maybe with the rom i can made it work!
