If you have modified or removed ANYTHING (that includes City ID) from the original ROM, the update is going to fail. A substantial portion is being applied via patch diffs, so the update script is validating the files are as it expects before letting you proceed.

You need to be on build 1.22.605.2, not having touched anything in /system, for this to work.

So what you're telling me is you:

Renamed the file you downloaded "Update"

Placed the file on the root of your SD card

Completely turned the power off

Held Volume Down + Power to enter Hboot

Volume down twice to recovery and hit the power button

Confirm seeing an red triangle to ensure you are running stock recovery

While at that image hit Volume UP + power for diag options

Chose “Apply sdcard:update.zip”

schwartzman93 : Do you have a messenger service that I can contact you at to review some things?

I am already noticing some issues after updating via this method

1: Upon returning to Hboot to confim S-off was still off, I was immediatly prompted for gift delivery to which I ended up back to the recovery image.

2: My weather is no longer updating. It fails every time.

3: Market will no longer load or download / install applications

4: I have lost the ability to unlock via menu button and now must swipe down

I understand what your saying...but you said you are S-OFF, which obviously means your rooted...i dont think the update.zip will work in clockwork recovery

Reboot to your OS and go to software information via Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Information.

Tell me all of the information on that page please.

Okay, its 3am here in Cali, but i will stay up to help you... unfortunately, i dont have a messenger to reach me at(and im kind of a noob, so im learning as i go along)

There have been people reporting issues with the HTC Sense Flip Clock widget...i will try to see if this is just an issue with the update.zip...or if others that have received the update or done the RUU are having this issue as well.

and im not quite sure what you are talking about with the lock screen

and i have no problems with the market

Like i said, i am a noob...so please dont get angry at me well im figuring this out...please be patient

and crashdogy....im sorry, i dont know what to tell you, it worked for me and it seemed to work for others at Android Central

Safari didn't do that. For some reason, it just turned it into a folder called update. I compressed it, turning it into a zip file. I followed the instructions and still it said it couldn't locate it, so i'll just wait for the update. Thanks anyway!

    Is My Face Red?

I used someone else's saved OTA and loaded it manually. That is what this whole thread is discussing.

Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

Ooops! Thanks for your patient answers. I am obviously a bit confused. I was hoping someone was talking about getting the OTA update OTA, not updating from a copy someone else saved. Sorry if I annoyed you.
