I install this rom and is very slow and spend much of the ram, is this normal? Or did i somenthing wrong?

I'm using this rom as well, comparing it with other roms, this is more stable, although consuming a little more ram memory, but each update is a tendency to improve, something that demands time and patience, as well as with gingrebread, she currently this perfect, I'm not doing posting bug, because when you read the topics, we'd already found the post, or even more than once.

with that I ask you not to post comments that have already been posted, but read from the first topic, and did they not have, so to post, this eliminates several to post without precision but only necessary for developers

sorry for mistakes grammarians am using a translator of English

so... day 2 with the miniCM9 - not too many stutters, more fluent. I get a lot of Deep Sleep on my CPU, but battery life sucks. I did one day of 3G (I got about 14h), one day of 2G. on 2G, fully charged (charged 100%, then reboot to recovery, wipe stats, charge 100%), no calls, just some incoming emails from gmail and exchange, 8:55:57 deep sleep out of 9:36:57 on battery and the battery is at 61%. on miniCM7, with the 2nd type of usage (rare calls, mostly emails, 2g) I was getting almost 3 days on a charge.

battery is always the same, only depends on the time that the android can go offline. when that happens he gets to spend only 1 mA, and when it uses full power to get to spend an average of 560mA thing that our battery would last a maximum of two hours, the music already spends around 200mA in this case would last 4.5hrs.

I recommend using the application Baterry monitor
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.bmw&hl=pt_BR

with it you can see through the mA as this consumes each function that you use and how much the phone is sleeping or spending offline

Another tip is to fully charge after restart the phone, so he showed a certain amount of battery power.

i have cpu spy and 9 hours out of 9.5 hours was in deep sleep. and I'm not doing much with it. it's also funny that with 3g I barely get a day (it's less than 24h, but enough to unplug it in the morning and last me until I go to bed), but 2g I get at least 2d 12h.

USB Tethering Problems

did anyone notice problems with USB Tethering. When I check the tethering option, the phone disconnects from the PC for a while :( (even the notification lights go out for a second), and then its impossible to create any connection with the PC, even the mass storage wont work until I reboot. Can anyone conform this, or provide any solutions for this. Thanks in advance

Too slow

So far I find it slower than Mini CM7 2.2.0. Will rollback.

I Hope that I can install former ROM with ICS kernel.

Will continue to follow the thread, though, and install a more stable version..

And it takes forever to reboot...
Thx

At Last!

I was watching all people that trying to make a good port of CM9 and i was wondering where were you!
You are the one nAa...

Thanks all the MiniCm team!!

I respect your opinion. You should respect mine.

To me it's slower. After 5 minutes rebooting (still in turn off screen), I turned the phone off. That's how I managed to reboot.
Maybe your SD card's different than mine. Maybe your configurations are different.
This ROM takes too long to start, too long to reboot, too long to open apps, too long to show icons in home screen.

Maybe I'm the only one, I don't know.
But I'm still rolling back.

standard reboot is not meant to be so slow
reboot to recovery has an issue (cf FAQ)
for quick reboot : power+home ;)

it seems (at least on my phone) the rom boots up quickly than CM7 (ofc all have been wiped ! )

but yes for the two last things : apps take a little more time to start, and trebuchet is a little slow : use APEX instead :)

Yeah i do!!! ;)
I got a 8GB 6class transcend SD card and i start from scratch for this CM9... i just make a partition about 1GB that´s all - my settings are 122/748mhz , interactivex and no undervolt , zRam 26% - launcher is sslauncher or apex and that´s it.

maybe its better to start from zero for that new ROM for u too! :)

Hi everybody. Very good work NaA, but I want to know if any other denote a slow phone. Unlock is really fast but if I push phone button to compose a number I have to wait about 10/12 SECONDS before keyboatd appear. About the same on SMS and Contacts. If I push home button it delay just 1,5 second, and so the phone it's quite normal. Camera app is as fast as the old one, description on icons are unreadable so I hide them. Icons and Hour on status bar are still small.

mine reboots 3 times slower in CM9. overall, it is slower than CM7 and has some stutters occasionally (phone freezes for 10-20 seconds). the only thing that I notice is much faster is the status bar and the switches (especially the 2G/3G switch - in CM7 it takes a few good seconds to switch from one another, in CM9 is pretty fast 1-2 seconds). but that's how CM7 started - much slower than the CM6, and then it was close to perfect in the latest release, so I'm hopeful that CM9 will be polished into a nice fast ROM within a few releases.

Κάνε εσύ compile το source code και πετα 2-3 libs μεσα για να μισοδουλεψει να δουμε αν θα τα καταφέρεις!

Hello stelios97,

I'm pretty sure he did not meant to offend anyone, neither he named someone specific.
Lets keep this thread clean of in-between conflicts and focus on development and bug hunting :D

Friendly regards, D_d

I just tried this amazing ICS ROM today! At first, before I adjust my performance settings I thought it was laggy and didn't respond very well... just wanted to share what I did to make it a lot snappier, even than MiniCM7 2.2.0!!!

1)I installed Apex launcher, which for some reason is a lot faster than the stock launcher...

2) I adjusted my performance governor to SmartassV2, as well as overclocked my cpu to 691 ( I also undervolted to get more battery life even though I didn't see any performance difference which is good...)

That's it!!, just do those two things (after flashing it following the directions on the first post) and you'll be good to go!

Only flaw I found was that the battery drained in like 6 hours (from around 70% to 0) , but I did reboot like 4-5 times in between and had wifi on, and bluetooth and listened to music, plus the battery always needs calibration after a new ROM, so I am pretty sure the battery will last as much as MiniCM7 after it's callibrated...

Cheers!!

    MiniCM9 Visuals

    MiniCM9 Theme:

    MiniCM9 theme, is the valid successor for MiniCM6 and MiniCM7 legacy.
    It is designed as close as possible to the original specs of ICS, in order to be a lightweight, beautiful alternative to the stock theme. However it is tweaked in several parts of the UI, in order to fit better to our small device's screen.

    Tips to make things faster

    * You want to overclock as much as you device can handle. ICS requires more juice to run.
    * Remove / Freeze system apps that you don't need, especially DSP Manager
    * Install only apps that you need, don't bloat your system
    * Consider using a swap partition / file if you got a fast sdcard. Swap will give more memory for the hungry ICS to consume
    * Using Zram (Compcache) and KSM is also suggested as they will give you a tad more RAM for your apps. Note that they might also reduce battery life since they require CPU cycles.
    * Trebuchet is beautiful but a bit on the laggy side yet. Consider installing another launcher from the market like Apex.

    Don't report bugs if you are using thirdparty tools that claim to be boosting the performance (Supercharger, RAM Manager, etc.)
    45
    Components

    ### Built from sources
    * libaudio
    * libgralloc
    * hwcomposer
    * libsensors
    * liblight
    * fm Radio
    * camerahal
    * libcamera
    * bluetooth

    ### Done
    * HW Video encoder/decoder

    Performance
    MiniCM9 along with the nAa-ics kernel, includes some interesting performance improvement points:
    • System -> Performance -> Processor -> CPU governor and frequency --> SmartassV2 is suggested. Overclocking can be set as higher as your device can take
    • System -> Performance -> Processor -> Undervolting --> Enable this to get better battery life
    • System -> Performance -> Memory management -> zRam (Compcache) --> By default this is set to 18% in order to provide more physical memory (RAM)
    • System -> Performance -> Kernel samepage merging -> Enable this to get smaller memory footprint due to memory sharing among apps (Note that this might increase battery consumption)
