I know that I'm not the first who experience that issue, the previous reports are from Nexus 4 and 5 (https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=62172), but to date I never noticed that someone reported it on the Moto x. The problem is plain and appeared instantly: without any alternation of the system or any other changes I silenced my phone with the volume rocker. But later when I wanted to get the voice back (with the volume rocker again) nothing happened. No rocker widget on the screen, no voice control. Tried to reboot, safe mode, many times, nothing. The voice could be adjusted in the dialer and any other application but not at the home screen.
They say that it is an Android system bug since 4.3 and it chooses its victims occasionally. Without any obvious reason. And doctors would say that it has bad prognosis: it doesn't disappear with 4.2.2....
