I am currently working on it now. Hoping to have the aboot and loki going soon. I have cwm booting threw fastboot np. As soon as I can talk to shel I think it will move forward very fast. IDK when shel will have a few to help out so please be calm with me...

I call bull**** on anyone claiming that Loki works for the AT&T LG G Flex. For the last and final time, the loki exploit for the LG G Flex AT&T model has been patched and loki will not work. There is no recovery for this model, nor will there be unless another exploit is found.

If you check around the G2 forums you will see I am/have been an active dev there. I was planning to spend more time with the G Flex but my work schedule has increased like 200%.

I may have a work around but need to find like 2 days of free time to try it.

If anyone claims that loki is working and has a custom recovery installed then post some pictures ;)

There is a recovery but it's hidden somehow.

Ok this must be so sad. I'm on t-mobile with flex d959. Excuse the blurry pics. They were taken with my sons google nextab 7" tablet.

D959 with CWM installed working and already made backup. Be patient little bit of tweaking to go before release.

But for all the non believers :

UPDATE: we have fully functional CWM recovery I have made a backup I've got a factory data reset wiped cache and dalvik I've restored the backup I flashed cross breeder I have flash several other mods and some boot animations all seem to be working fine the only issue is is we cannot get into CWM from the power of state or any recovery for that matter

We are close just be patient

A custom recovery does not do you much good if you can't get into it I can you have bricked.
Right now it's only good for flashing software or mods or whatever but there was the risk of flashing something breaking your life and not being able to get back into CWM to restore

Not much hard work. Just testing really. Like I said before I'm just ballsy enough to try anything cuz I know with all the great dev around us on the g flex and the many I've met thru the years I'm sure we can get me back from brick if it came to it.

Hey thanks for testing! Is the recovery for all variants? I've got a spare d950 for the moment if needed by the way.

That I'm not sure all I know of Tess of the D 959 and its working with it but it's actually a modified LG 2 CWM. For my best guess is it will install an LG to recovery on a LG flex in it is possibly universal

No i think hes saying he can only get in recovery through an app

Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk

Thats what the app will do i think ;)

What happens when you press the bottons at startup? If i press the bottons it will normaly boot up (or I'm to dumb atm :p )
With Terminal -> reboot recovery i can succesfully boot into twrp ;)

So Matt, is this the same method i have been testing for playfulgod? The freedomflex app? I just tried his latest today and had working Twrp on my phone. Idk what happened but once I booted system phone hung at LG black screen and i had to flash back to stock.

No the method matt is playing with is different. It doesn't Loki the boot loader it installs cwm as a 2nd init (to the system partition not recovery) so custom kernels won't be able to be flashed

It seems we will all have some form of recovery soon. I'm pretty pumped. I can't wait to see what this phone can do without a bulky bloated rom slowing it down. If you guys need any help testing let me know. I'd be glad to help.

Has the attempts to unlock, patch Loki, and/or build a custom recovery for the US variants just halted. I mean last weekend some were talking as if they should have custom recovery working by the end of the weekend. I've offered to test or do anything to help with the process. I've gotten no response. No files to test no request to help or do anything. I don't know a lot about building custom recoveries or patching Loki or bootloaders. I'm more of a ROM builder/porter. And themer. My experience and know how lacks in those areas but I follow instructions very well and not afraid to test or try anything. But there doesn't seem to be any advancements with the US variants. Why? Where are we stuck at? And who is actually building or working on the Loki or custom recovery? I'm not asking for someone to tell me they know someone who is working on it. Or they know that "they" are very close. Who ever is working on it please let some of us eager crack flashers know how we can help. I am not near as talented as some of the people I've seen in this forum at this stuff and not claiming to be but with all of us helping maybe we can make some headway.

Shouldn't have showed them anything screw them, what they need to do is get themselves a new hobby to keep them entertain and being patient the phone is already a beast heck they knew what they was getting their selfs into before getting this phone.

Sent from my LG-LS995 using Tapatalk

Fair enough, but if you're going to come in saying how it's working and you're already running it, then some proof isn't a crazy request. That's a huge step and claim and being the only one like gotroot and that he said last weekend and not a sound that doesn't seem like it's crazy to wasn't too see some proof.

By the way another hobby? I just want a recovery so I can test my ROM I've been building. I guess I could just stop and we could have a recovery with nothing to flash.

As for a new hobby me and gotroot were talking and someone showed proof. So I did exactly what I said and admitted I was wrong. What I'm trying to figure out is why you have anything to say after the fact and what you contribute besides pointless threads about speed tests?

And again asking for proof is not being inpatient so why do you idiots keep saying to be patient. It's being skeptical and not believing everything read on the internet, especially when only 1 person is saying it. However as shown gotroot seems I be telling the truth so again I am sorry to him for doubting him.
