this is awesome. i was waiting for another option than the buggy one thats up. are you going to be working on the capacitive buttons in the near future?

thks again

they will all be buggy at this point in development... he's just giving you guys options of trying something different.. even the official aopk mako is buggy.. it's been ported from the nexus 4 and all of theirs is still WIP...

As far as core functions, nothing is different. I built it using chadouming github. Its really just the settings that are availible in the rom itself. More ability to tweak in AOKP is all really.

Houstonn is right, I don't forsee this really being less buggy than chad's cm10. Though I havn't had many issues while using it the last few days.

As for the cap keys, I'm very new to development, so although I will be trying to resolve the issue...I doubt I'll be the one to succed. Can't see it taking too long before a fix is availible by someone though.

Well it is built from sources of CM10.1 ROM in dev section which currently runs how it should for now on my E971 so don't see why not.

Maybe the installation method can cause a problem:
1. Wipe Data/Cache
2. Wipe System
3. Install Rom . . .

CM10.1 strictly says not to wipe anything. You install the rom, then gapps, and THEN do a Factory Reset. I recall reading somewhere that you will brick your phone if you do not follow those instructions.

Not sure if that's just E971, but i factory reset and wipe system prior to flashing the rom then gapps everytime. I personally havn't had an issue, I don't want to be resposible for anyone bricking their device, just put the procedure I use.

The E97x series is fairly similar but it is completely different from every phone I have played with (galaxy 1, 2, s2x, SIII, LG p500). On the other phones I listed u wipe first but this can cause a brick on the e971 (rogers 2600) and some or all of the variants such as the e973 (bell/telus) which is very close except for its LTE frequency. You have an E973 Haze, and didnt get a brick when wiping before romming?

You can read about some of the bootloops posted here:

Yes, E973 Bell. I have always wiped data then system on this phone before changing roms. Preforming a restore did the same, wipe each before flashing, so I didn't see the harm in doing so myself.

Edit-No brick here, I've repeated this process at least 30 times by now... no issues.

I re-read thru the link I posted above the previous post. Seems that the cause of the bootloops was an old version of recovery (CWM or TWRP).

trying to help haze out and figuring out what's wrong.. I managed to build it on my box with my sources.. if you guys would like to test it.

    aokp_geeb_unofficial_Mar-06-13.zip

just chatting with haze now while he's working on it on his box..

    Build Instructions

    Moved to seperate building thread.
    3
Well i've finally got all my issues sorted, or the major ones.. which were all just my stupidity as i was suspecting :p

Anyways, i'm going to be putting up a build in a little bit here. Cap keys working, havn't added nfc yet(is there still the battery drain issue??).
It'll just be base aokp build 5, havn't added any apps or tweaked anything. Just figured it had been long enough without a release. Try it out, let me know... I'll update OP when uploaded

just realized that the sounds up/down is switched still. fixed for next build but not really an issue since i'm already uploading.

Build and mirror are up, I've been running for the last hour and a bit and i've yet to reboot, not saying it's fixed but... ;) havn't had a chance to check the wifi range sod, but let me know what you find is up or not working(aside from nfc, i've held off till i hear news on battery drain i was hearing about)

I re-read thru the link I posted above the previous post. Seems that the cause of the bootloops was an old version of recovery (CWM or TWRP).
If I recall correctly, I got CWM with freegee .5
    CWM version 6.0.1.5

Which recovery are u using Haze?

Use the recovery from http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2010984(he has the latest posted which has been compiled for the att to use exFAT on the ext_sdcard,
which will show errors on our Canadian phones when loaded in recovery)

You would want to use the recovery of Sk8's CWM - no sdcard exFAT errors.

As for your above post. - you can wipe cache / wipe dalvik cache / you can even go ahead and goto mounts and storage and "format /system"

    install rom
    install gapps

after flash I always do a wipe cache partition / wipe dalvik cache (since it installs a kernel)

    then reboot system
