Just so we're all on the same page. No need to flash this one if you don't want to use the lazy governor as it's basically the same as test7 other than the addition of lazy:

This one is the same as test7 but I wanted to add the lazy governor to this one and I think test7 has been stable enough to be moved to a beta state. Link below:

Edit: Ok we should be good now. Original link didn't have working wifi but that's fixed.

AOKP also has the ability to add a horribly obtrusive navigation bar (read: Galaxy Nexus) with soft keys to the bottom of your screen, and take up real estate from our already limited resolution.

I'll give it a spin. Which governor do you typically use? I'm wrapping up a week using lagfree with no other changes, i.e. under/over volting/clocking, and I've been well pleased with the battery life. Especially today, moderate use: 7hrs up and still 75% battery.

AOKP has a few things that I like. The main thing for me is that toggles are better looking IMO and I love the battery circle mod...kind of petty sounding but I just like them better. There are a few other minor things too. The navigation bar stuff doesn't apply to us as our screens are too small. If drk.hd could integrate AOKP with HWA that would be the jam.

I like both lagfree and lazy about the same but I like them both the best. SAV2 would be a close third though. It's really hard to tell as the inc is not my daily driver and I only use it now for toying with ROMs or kernels and not really to test performance.

SAv2 is still my favorite. Getting great battery life and excellent speed. Haven't tried lagfree yet, and don't have lazy, since I'm still on test 7.
Man, this rom is nice.

Just installed this and it's pretty stable. Only a few questions about it...

1. No torch/flashlight? Do I have to install an app for that?

2. Autostarts can't seem to get root access, so it doesn't work. Everything looks fine in superuser, and all other rooted apps work.

1) correct, I use "Teslaled" which is available in the Store. It's slightly awesome.
2) clear data in Superuser and see if that helps.

1. Teslaled doesn't have the max brightness option that CM7's Torch app has. But, it seems that I had a backup of Torch 2.3.7 in Titanium Backup which works perfectly once restored. I wonder why a Torch app doesn't come with CM9 since CM7's works perfectly...

2. I've reinstalled autostarts, cleared superuser, etc. with no change. What happens after a fresh install is superuser comes up, asks to allow/deny the request, i allow, and then i get an error that there's no root access. has anyone else been able to use autostarts without issue?

Seems that torch 2.3.7 is brighter than teslaled when on max brightness, but the regular led (the non-max brightness setting) is much dimmer than it should be...

seems updating to autostarts 1.7.5 did the trick. sorry for the false alarm

yes, i prefered the Torch from CM7 and just restored the backup and it works perfectly! Now i just wish i could get the FM radio to work.

What is autostarts and what is the advantage of having it?

Also, does anyone know how to check which apps are accessing GPS? I used to use spare parts and that would tell me the GPS usage, but it doesn't do it anymore.

I've been running this rom with the latest incredikernel for the last day and a half and I'm incredibly impressed, especially since it's technically still in alpha. No random reboots so far, and I've run it pretty hard (Spotify and Navigation at the same time, etc.). The only caveat is the battery life. I've got the governor set to smartassv2 and when the phone is inactive it's great, but as soon as it's put into use then the battery percentage starts to drop dramatically. Yesterday I killed the battery in 5-6 hours with moderate to lite use. Anyone else had any luck with the other governors?

The only problem I've found so far is that there's no keypad option during calls. I can't enter my bank pin or update via Verizon.

Having a problem with notifications. I've tried three different SMS apps and I can't figure out how to get the notification light working. I have gone into settings on phone and added the app to notification light and the test works. When I receive a message however, I don't get a blinking notification light. I have even changed settings in the app such as in go SMS but the test within the app will not blink. Any ideas?

Anybody tinker with the VM Heap or zram settings in settings/performance/memory management? Looking for your best settings on either.

Very impressed so far. Only been running it for about a day, but it is well beyond "pre-alpha".

Battery life is the only drawback I've noted so far. Running on stock kernel, but I might try Incredikernel at some point.

I hope you aren't tired of flashing, because I have one more coming your way, and this one is big. The Evervolv team just pushed through some major fixes to the camera HALs just this morning that should enable barcode scanners and panorama mode. Additionally, rywri has just posted a new camera apk with some code that fixes the camera fc when using panorama. Check his thread out here.

What this means for YOU is that I'm (probably) going to put out yet another build today with working barcode scanner and panorama. :D

I've started to experiencing a weird issue with Superuser after upgrading to a7. When prompted, Superuser doesn't remember anything that I've allowed. I had to allow several prompts just to load Titanium Backup. This issues isn't limited to Titanium, but to any app that requires root access. Right now I have Superuser set to automatically allow anything, and I'm not fond of leaving it on that setting. I've tried clearing the cache. They only thing I haven't done is delete Superuser using Titanium (since it's a system app) and then reinstalling it through the market.

That's odd, it's working for me. I do know that CM made some changes to su recently to try to fix some bugs...

New build is up! Get it while it's hot!
Like the preview release, only kernels built for the new drivers work. This limits you to Incredikernel HWA Beta 2 and mamarley's beta kernel, along with the stock kernel, of course.

    Get it here!

    New Build

New build is out! Get it here.

    Changes:
    • CM9 updates
    • Evervolv updates
    • General cleanup

I'm done with finals now, so my dev work should be speeding up. The main thing to work on right now is actually the kernel, so we don't have to rely on outside kernels. Then comes getting the needed changes to the qcom libs into CM. Busy busy!

New build is up! Various updates from upstream. On my end, I simplified the repo download process, so I'll write a new tutorial on building soon.

    Get the new build here.
