Im not sure what Im doing wrong. I am coming from the latest xROM. I downloaded both files per the 1st post. Updated the recovery image, rebooted, updated the cm image, rebooted. It takes a very long time to get past the flashing Android screen, then it pops up the Google registration page. At this point, the phone slows down to a crawl. I think it maybe doing apps2sd in the background because some of my apps are force closing (like Google Talk). Is there a way to stop apps2sd from running before doing the 2 reboots on the home screen? (The last step on the instructions)
If anyone knows whats else I can try, please post.
Thanks.
I ended up just formatting the ext2 partition. Seems to be working just fine now.
i want to put my new class6 8gig card in and install this 1.6 and Cyanogens new rom, do i have to partition this new card the same as i did my old one before installing the new roms, thanks
Can someone please provide a mirror link of the htc 1.6 recovery img for the G1 my computer and my phone are not letting me download, for some reason when I try to download it it shuts down my browse. Thank you in adavanced
I've got all the bugs people are reporting worked out for the next release. Just need a little time tonight to get it together.
The same thing keeps happening to me as well as I can't seem to get rapidshare pages to load, (amon-ra's recovery) either, so I'm looking thru the thread to find a way to get back to 1.6 and CM.
I have flashed, wiped and cleaned my ext3 partition, all to no avail
Bhang

Do you mean Alt+W?
If your problems continue to persist as you read this, I would suggest wiping everything. Go back into Recovery 1.4, do a wipe data/factory reset (Alt+W), then launch the console (Alt+X) and run the following:
# mount -o rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /system/sd
# cd /system/sd
# rm -rf /system/sd/*
# reboot recovery
Then reinstall everything according to the given instructions.
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

Glad to hear you got it going ...... now drink a beer or sparkling water ..whatever your fancy
You could wait for an update. My market let me install some of the protected apps I lost when I wiped my ext3 when there were updates (before that the buttons for open and uninstall were greyed out). That makes sense to me. But its a paid app so I don't think the author would post the apk on his site. But anyway, its just a Task manager. I can always use another one. Just that Advanced Task Manager worked best.
But 4.2.3.1 worked beautifully except for that one app and for the fact that after installing 2-3 apps, I have to restart phone or I get the 'Installation Error' problem.
