I tried this and changed size to 1280 x 800 but nothing showed up so I took 100 off of each(1180 x700) and this totally shut off my screen. I got the initial bootsplash then screen would go black. So after I crapped my pants, I figured out how to do the 3 button reboot into recovery and install backup.
Is there something else that I could try? Or should I leave it alone?

Ok when you resize the pngs inside the bootani the image quality goes way down cause you are having to increase the image size. I'll keep messing with it but more than likely won't be able to get a good image quality do to the pngs being sized so small.

That's ok. I appreciate your effort. I searched everywhere looking for this and could never find it. I really liked this boot when it was on the vibe, and realized it was on my computer just last week, but it's only a boot animation I can live without it.

+1. Yes please, takes real state space from the notification bar (when typing of course) I guess i'm just a minimalistic fan.
