wow yeah i see what you mean. There is a little on mine but not nearly as apparent. Hmm I will see if i can fix it using different settings because it does not appear in all my pictures. Will report back if I find anything.

I think it might be reflection on that flat plastic lens cover. If by chance anyone disassembled the device, it would be interesting to take photos without the cover.
But still we first have to know at what conditions it's most visible. Actually I could see it on all photos I found on internet, when I knew what to look for.

I dont think is a plastic cover because if u do photo with flash then pink spot is gone.

The more I see and hear, the more I think it's an attempt to make up for a slightly blue flash that went wrong somewhere along the line.

Anyway, talking of making up for it, for those with a half decent image editor, it's a 1-2 minute job to almost completely correct it without affecting the saturation or colour levels in the photos...

I just saw this at 4winmobile.com:
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/news/22502-htc-confirms-camera-hardware-defect-hd2.html
I have looked at HTC website but there is nothing of the sort there but I will be contacting them on Monday, even though the discolouration on my camera doesn't seem to be as bad as soem that I have seen (although it is definitely there). Let's see what they say.

that's from wmpoweruser.com, not a statement from htc. the statement itself is a reply to a mail one from xda recieved from htc.

here are two pictures I took, one this afternoon of my white wall, one just now (it's midnight here) off my screen. the first one has the pink problem, the second one doesn't seem to have it. I did now postprocessing, and excuse the focus on the second one it was a snapshot with only one lightbulb spending light.

I too find that by manually setting the flash I can get rid of the pink tinge too.

Look at these! On the first one I pointed the Cam directly to a white sheet of paper and then started it (not took the photo at this moment). Then i waited and waited and the pink just didnt go away, so i took a photo which look like this. Only fix for getting rid of this extreme pink was to point the cam somewhere totally different so that the focus had to readjust itself.

Second one is the standard pink area everybody else here noticed...

Bought on 20th of Nov in a Media Markt here in Germany

ROM 1.43.407.2 (70124) GER

Interesting! This one doesn't seem to have any pink spot at all!! I fiddled with its Hue/Saturation for some time but I can't find anything!

hum... Your ROM version (1.43.488.1) is bit higher than people having the problem here isn't it? (looks like they're all 1.43.405 or 413)

yes you are rite....
I tried some indoor photography as well...and played with color balancing and other functions...I don't have such kind of issues mentioned in this thread...

Camera, zooming and focus...it works very well...

I purchased it on 20th November....shop guy was saying it just came from taiwan (HTC)....so may be updated ROM....

I also donot face many problems mentioned by other member of this forum (in other threads)...

It is really a stable ROM I must say...speed, email accounts, sense, wifi, 3G, browser, multitouch, screen sensivity...voice quality, ringtone volume etc etc...everything is stable and perfect in this ROM.

I'm at last feeling a bit happy since last week!
As I don't have an HD2 can someone try his camera dll and see if the problem is solved?
