BATTERY SAVING HELP
some good guidelines to a long battery life.
1. Wifi when enabled, is not disabled when phones goes standby, go into Wifi menu, and press menu -> advanced, and change wifi power saving behaviour to as example after 15mins, this increases battery saving alot.
2. If you dont use 3G at all, disable 3G in the Mobile data setting it to GSM ONLY network, this will also increase battery life.
3. If you start DLNA feature of this ROM, and dont use it anymore, enter "administer programs" -> running services and stop the DLNA service, HTC made some stupid scanning feature which takes up alot of CPU and phone starts lagging alot too.
Using this guideline you gain almost 5 days of pure standby time without loss of battery charge, which i can confirm here.

EXTRAS
this image has also many functions from MotoFrenzy, like shortcut keys on hw keyboard
-Keyboard shortcut functions (hold all 3 keys to activate)
- Spotlight on/off switch (LEFT SHIFT + A + DPAD CENTER)
- hw keyboard light switch (LEFT SHIFT + A + L)
- (not in 2.2kernel) : Enable apps2sd (LEFT SHIFT + A + U)
- (not in 2.2kernel) : diable apps2sd (LEFT SHIFT + A + T)
- start adb (LEFT SHIFT + A + X)
- copy all downloaded apps (LEFT SHIFT + A + P)
- kill launcher (LEFT SHIFT + A + ENTER)

- overclocking
- like in MotoFrenzy, add "overclock" file to your sdcard root dir, and those settings
will be activated during boot.
default is activated with 550Mhz only.

STATE OF FUNCTIONALITY

ISSUES Reported by users
- less space left in storage /data (approx. 120MB)
- Native AP teeter do not work
- Locations app removed, (incompatible with milestone hardware and its 256MB memory)
- Notification leds not supported, HTC works differently on their hardware
- adding a picture to a contact, causes FC when added. Solution: use the kill launcher shortcut when you're adding pictures to contacts, to free up memory.

BASEBAND RADIOS for v0.1 ONLY, 0.2+ needs manual install
See http://dext3r.komodin.org/ for details on baseband radio in the FAQ

EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT:
- EXT2 (apps2sd sdcard filesystem) - no kernel module available.
- Bluetooth (will probably never work good, unless i work very, very, very intensive on this matter.

REMOVED:
- some malware products
- EReader (not working)

Feeling scary,....;)

Seems like installing the system on sdcard ,coz image is bigger than internal memory..

ok, not really a problem, just that htc has 800x480 we got 854x480.. im working on it.. as the graphics are now native size, their way of handling it is different so fixing is different.

but thanks for reporting and testing.
im hoping to have a fix ready with this later today.

New update v0.1 being uploaded..

Features full USB support, graphics fix and GPS is working now..

so the bluetooth remains to be solved (required hard programming work to fix)

resolution problems? resolution on this is native now, so if you think its wrong, maybe you just dont like htc sense :)

wifi, i dont know, i have used the image for 1 day now, wifi is stable here

Confirmed: wifi isn't working. My network is detected, it tries to connect, but it can't get a (dinamic) IP address.

Dexter's works is absolutely amazing, but my opinion is that these HTC ports are unusable on Milestone due to the memory issue. The home screen reloading is very annoying to use on a day-to-day basis.

Thanks.
Regards.

i think now your problems are related to the encryption protocol? and not IP related? because it really runs stable here even with almost 2 days rebooting and playing, network has not been a problem.

but you are partly correct, i should sell my milestone and get a samsung galaxy S and port it that model.. it has the screen and 512MB ram, so probably much better, and screen is a match to htc too.
and yes, not a htc :) and probably closer to htc ace than desire would be.

I will try and dig into this probably first during this weekend... a small quick fix hopefully. i will not try updating framework etc.. just kernel + wifi and if something else is currently buggy. memory issues will probably remain as is..
    3
Looking forward to the update! Thx Dexter...

    you have been served!

See post #1 for the update!!

    PS:
I cannot say what effect it has, but i can see it works as usual (i hope) let me know if there is major differences in functions.
Since kernels are with same revision name, i think both kernels will work fine, so you can continue the "experiments" from here, with my patch update of kernel modules needed.

ok, i will look into a quick patch, or full image update, as i recall v0.25v miss the important usb patch which also is available as patch, not a biggie but maybe nice to do a 0.26 that has almost all included.
