This could be CM7 related.
Go to CM7 FAQ and I think there was a fix for GPS. Can't find specific link though...

It's not an accuracy issue. The problem is that the gps won't turn on... the last thing i want is to come off as rude, but it is really frustrating me. Especially since I'm one of the few that have the problem :/

it works fine when i first reflash, but after a few reboots, the same problem keeps occurring.

I'm having the same problem. When I launch maps it will not locate me at all! But if I launch gps status then immediately launch maps it'll locate me no problem. It also happens with any other app.

Mine doesn't turn on unless I reboot...then it won't turn off...and then the cycle continues...

Is anyone else unable to save pictures sent through text? I get "unable to save attachment" every time I try.

I've restored the APN Settings zip for CM7 that's in this forum btw, just in case that has to do with anything.

This is how my gps works. Thankfully i don't use it much.

The main reason i upgraded from a Captivate is for a functional GPS. This is definitely a big issue and needs to be fixed... or at least posted in the OP as a bug.

Also, is there a way to turn off fingerprint sensor navigation? its really annoying.

It is most definitely not. GPS worked 100% fine in CM7 and not the case here. I love this ROM but I kinda need GPS to work. Also I did a logcat of it and nothing seemed to have come up.

Also to disable fingerprint navigation go into device settings > nav enable > disable.

Thanks :D I just needed a reboot for it to disable.

I think the question is if people who use the Weekly Build #4 have this same issue. If they don't, then it is strictly an issue with this rom.

I really like this ROM and have been using it as a daily driver since it came out of beta with zero issues. Suddenly I am getting complete system freezes more and more often, and I came pin down any reason. The phone freezes on one screen, and needs a battery pull. I am using GT+ s
Is this a known issue with the build? I didn't have it for a while after upgrading to S, and it seems to bee triggered by nothing particular, I lock the phone to max 1.2 GHz, and get very average temps.
thanks

Love this ROM! :D I really like the W7 keyboard too. I've been getting force closes on it though. If I try to add a word to my user dictionary it force closes. Not really a big issue.
I have some questions about the keyboard though! Is there a way to customize the smilies on it? Or even delete that key? Its kind of big. Haha. And where is the < symbol...?

For me,I tried GPS after reading here,.
I got fix in normal time.
I tried GPS status app from market.
It also gave me quick fix.

My only problem is with 3g.
I have idea 3g connection which works fine on my nokia.

But it does not find network in atrix .
I am on 30p radio.

What do I do?

I don't know what sipjca and the others who are having problems with GPS are talking about, but I don't have any problems with Neutrino WRT GPS. In fact it feels Neutrino is faster in getting a GPS signal than CM7.

I'm genuinely very bewildered about this GPS issue
Did it work fine with V1.4?

And the reason no logcat came up was well... I removed it... as it was perceived as an unnecessary system process.

    - Massive 54% cut in size

Uses DarkyROM's fast zipalignment to increase RAM efficiency. All system .apk's are also PNG optimised to make .apks smaller.

    - Wi-Fi/3G tweaks
Tweaked net buffer size and added network init.d scripts for faster 3g/Wi-Fi.

    - Increased Dalvik cache to 160m
Increased efficiency with demanding apps and increases smoothness.

    - Reduced background processes
Removed CMstats as well as unnecessary Google bloatware to increase snappiness and battery life.

    Please read before downloading

This is an enormously STRIPPED DOWN ROM. Many features YOU need may NOT be available in the base package. If there is any loss of functionality, you'll need to flash an ADDON by clicking the link below.

Before you download, ensure your contacts are saved onto your SD card or memory card. Contact/calender sync is not included natively, you must flash the 'Sync addon.'

This is a CM7 BASED ROM. So anything that doesn't work on CM7 like Webtop will NOT work on this ROM also. Please do not request non-CM7 features.
    Install Instructions:
**Firstly make sure you have the latest RomRacer's recovery!!**
Then choose to wipe using any one of the following two wiping methods:
    For clean wipe:
Moto-fastboot -w, erase system/boot/preinstall, then install from INTERNAL .ZIP!

    For easy wipe:
Go into recovery, and install from INTERNAL .ZIP!
Wiping data may not be necessary with every update, but it's best to flash clean. However, if you regularly flash the updates, you'll most likely need to wipe data at some stage anyway.
**DO NOT WIPE DATA AFTER INSTALLING!!!**
Make sure you flash the 'Lite gapps' in to get the barebone google apps.

Then, after booting, click on script manager, navigate to /system/etc and run NitroCharger.sh as ROOT and at BOOT!
It is also HIGHLY recommended to download the GPS Mod found in #2.
    Then you're done.

Q: Are you going to be working on CM9?
Yep, I'm working on it right now :)

Q: My phone doesn't boot with this ROM - it get's stuck on the dual-core screen :(
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ROMRACER'S RECOVERY!!!! CHANGE IT NOW!

Q: Why is performance settings in CMparts removed?
A lot of options in performance settings will conflict with the tweaks in this ROM. All the options in performance settings have been included in the ROM anyway, but have been optimised for the best settings. So don't worry about it. If you REALLY want to head over to performance settings, then long press on homescreen and select shortcut. Add CMparts>Performance Settings and you will gain access. But seriously, there's really no point.

Q: My phone shows that I have very low free RAM!
Here's a fat explanation on how the RAM works in Android.

Q: My phone can't scan files on my SDcard?
CM7 mounts the SDcard and internal memory opposite to Motorola. To switch back to 'stock style,' navigate to /settings/CMsettings/application > Check 'use internal storage' and reboot.

Q: Does this ROM support landscape mirroring?
    Yep.

Q: How do you get those cool 'ICS style' rings like in the screenshots?
Go to Settings/CMsettings/Lockscreen/Style options/Ring-Lock style and change to 'holo.'

Q: What does the BOOST script do?
It will 'defrag' databases, so make them smaller (faster to read, so apps will open faster) as well as freeing the caches. Do NOT run this script at boot!!!!! It is to be used if your phone starts to feel a big sluggish or laggy, then just run the script with SU and that's it.
