JQ1 (gingerbread?) rolling out in Italy

Two different Italian users reported on Androidiani.com forum that an updated firmware is rolling out via Kies.

It is reported as JQ1, android 2.3.3.

I am currently checking if this information is true.

Expect updates...

after contacting samfirmware via twitter, they have immediately contacted their "insider" and will make JQ1 available for download until tomorrow!

More precisely Samfirmware confirms what I posted here.
So far, it is all cross-references... :-(

Still I can confirm that three different users reported the update.
Since I am running a custom rom (a mix of Overcome, Rotohammer and MoDaCo), Kies does not recognize my device nor inform about updates.

Can you ask one of these users to do a dump or backup of their firmware?

Given that we have a stock rom and most probably no recovery installed, would you suggest a dump using Rotohammer's backup method?

I hope that battery drain present in Gingerbread for Galaxy S was fixed in this release..

It's exciting and sad at the same time. Exciting gingerbread is finally coming. Sad that this is the end of the tabs major updates. I do hope they bring gtalk video and voice in a future update though.
