How to unlock E980

Would someone please tell me how to unlock this phone.

I just got it from AT&T a week ago and they told me that I can't get it unlocked until 6 months later.

But, I need to use the phone in Australia and then Hong Kong with the prepaid SIM there.

Explain to a higher AT&T representative your reasoning.

Current Devices:
LG Optimus G Pro (LG-E980)
HP Touchpad (Tenderloin)

Previous Devices:
Samsung Galaxy SII (SGH-i777)

typically they dont care. trust me i used to work for att...they would only sim unlock a device if it was bought no contract or if it was old enough to be out of contract. if u buy a phone that isnt unlocked and need to use it in another country they'll remind u what "great" roaming rates they have now and how widely available wifi is. like zach said stick to a website that can unlock it for u...might get screwed but if u stick to reputable sites u should be fine.

I unlocked it with this in ebay

Dial *#06# on you phone and give him the IMEI.
