Roku has a new Beta feature for some models allowing screen mirroring with your tablet. It should work with the 10.1 2014 edition, but I can't turn screen mirroring on. The slide button is greyed out and there is no obvious way to change that. My device is unrooted and up to date. I appreciate any assistance.

I am sorry I'm not any help but I too have had the same issue. On stock and haven't been able to screen share to a miracast device or with an HDMI cable either. Hopefully there is a solution, (I can't root the device).

According to the TWRP thread this is a problem if you have a custom recovery installed. (see: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=55890257&postcount=1055)

You can find a possible fix here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2621550

I got it working this past weekend. In application manager open "Allcast Dongle S/W Update." Click on uninstall updates, and then restart the machine. Screen Mirroring was then active and working. Allcast then updated itself, but that didn't disable Screen Mirroring.

The Ironic thing, is that the Roku feature is clearly not ready for prime time. It is slow and the screen is filled with digital artifacts.
