[ROM][4.2.2][N5110/N5100/N5120] CivZ-FLEX-BEAM-REV3.6.2 + SphereXtreme [28/nov/2013][discontinued]

Note:
This rom is based on the Samsung 4.2.2
I'm not a developer and not pretending to be one, I'm a android enthusiast.
Take it as it is and don't complain as this is free.
No requests.

Installation:
Install custom CWM/TWRP
I recommend the PhilZ touch recovery as it includes every possible backup method like EFS
Make a EFS backup!!
Never install a rom that isn't for your device = It will lead to a hard brick!!
First time you install this full wipe!!
Updating from Rev1.. to Rev... no wipe needed.
Install with CWM or TWRP
If your extra settings (root, viper,...)don't appear please reinstall the rom.

Framework and SystemUI changes:

  • S-Pen alignment optimization and new hover pointer for more accurate drawing.(Changing included kernel will break perfect alignment as the kernel got also a fix)
  • MiniApps enbled and framework modded so it works correctly (Terminal command is needed to activate it)
  • Multi User support (Max 4 users) enabled in framework (See important info)
  • Home/Recent button in statusbar (Longpress = recent apps) inspired @ soloilmeglio
  • Extra system settings: Root / ViperFX / Nandroid Backup / OTG helper ( please don't delete these apps or you will get ForceCloses )

SphereXtreme KERNEL Features
Build using the JB 4.2.2 source of the GT-N5110 compiled with Google toolchain.
If you change nothing these are the following Features/optimisations you get compared to Stock:
  • GPU default is now 533MHz (can be overclocked to 700MHz)
  • S-Pen Alignment fixed
  • Default Speeds 100MHz-1600MHz (Stock kernel = 200MHz-1600MHz)
  • Activating Saving power will result into 100MHz-1100MHz.

  • ARCH-Power enabled
  • Triangle away support (Only V2.90)
  • DynamicFSYNC = Use Terminal command or Trickster Mod app. = enabled by default.

Important Info

-MultiUsers support:
Only the Owner will have access to all the extra settings: Root / ViperFX / Xposed / Nandroid Backup / OTG helper.
This for safety so the kids won't change your system settings layout.

S-Pen isn't supported for the MultiUser: Only works for the owner.(Samsung thing)


-READERSHUB and root.
ReadersHub works fine if you disable SuperSU, Go to SuperSu settings and disable Superuser.
When finished with ReadersHub just enable SuperSU again in the settings.

-KEYBOARD
If you select the Android Keyboard to install this will be the startup keyboard, you can go to settings and select the Samsung one

Note on Odexing rom.

  • Your accounts( google , samsung,...) info will be erased so re-enter them after odexing the rom
  • Auto reboot after odexing doesn't work so do a hard reboot
  • After odexing many apps FC , DON'T worry the reboot will fix it.
  • Odexing will make your rom smoother, all apps and framework in system are odexed.
  • Modding is still possible , just re-odex the rom after you changed some app or framework.
  • Re-installing the rom will give a a deodexed rom so odex command needs to be repeated.

Stupid question maybe...how come your rom is 1.2gb, but the CM rom is 156mb?

*I realize the stock rom is also 1+ gb, just curious how the other rom is able to be so much smaller

CM has always been and probably will always be smaller than most roms. Just different code (built from ground up) and not using the 4.2.2 TW leak as a base. This rom does use it as a base so the size will reflect that. Other thing that might have a small effect on size is the amount of packaged apps in each rom.

Installed. Working flawlessly, the only problem I found is that 5GHz network recognition is not working again. Thanks @civato.

CM roms, and ALL AOSP roms are very much smaller than the TW roms; there is no TW bloat, no samsung bloat, nothing except what is needed to make your device do all the basic things...thats why AOSP roms are also much faster, and more nimble that TW roms...
So, you have to decide if the trade off of speed, fast, and agile is worth losing all the Samsung/TW bloat/apps that you get with a TW rom...
Remember, things like S-pen, readers hub, and every other Samsung app probably won't work right, or work at all on any AOSP rom..

DiskUsage app marks that my internal SD Card is 10110MB, 4414MB which is System Data... Do these numbers seem correct? (I am moving everything else to the SD Card)...

Rev1.1 got some new stuff like 4Way reboot menu.(worked 5 hours to get that working)

    Important Info

    -MultiUsers support:
    Only the Owner will have access to all the extra settings: Root / ViperFX / Xposed / Nandroid Backup / OTG helper.
    This for safety so the kids won't change your system settings layout.

    S-Pen isn't supported for the MultiUser: Only works for the owner.(Samsung thing)


    -READERSHUB and root.
    ReadersHub works fine if you disable SuperSU, Go to SuperSu settings and disable Superuser.
    When finished with ReadersHub just enable SuperSU again in the settings.

    -KEYBOARD
    If you select the Android Keyboard to install this will be the startup keyboard, you can go to settings and select the Samsung one

    Note on Odexing rom.

    • Your accounts( google , samsung,...) info will be erased so re-enter them after odexing the rom
    • Auto reboot after odexing doesn't work so do a hard reboot
    • After odexing many apps FC , DON'T worry the reboot will fix it.
    • Odexing will make your rom smoother, all apps and framework in system are odexed.
    • Modding is still possible , just re-odex the rom after you changed some app or framework.
    • Re-installing the rom will give a a deodexed rom so odex command needs to be repeated.

    Ok to please everyone.

    I will release FLEX-BEAM rev3.3 in 3 versions.

    • UK based 4.2.2 MH3 = 5110. = Already finished.
    • US based 4.2.2 MI1= 5110. = Already finished.
    • MH2 based for the 5100. = Need to build it.
    All roms will have the same features except the regions or device support is different.
    The USA MI1 (XAR) version doesn't got the autobrightness 5 step slider. it is a US thing. But it got 5G wifi support without the need for wifi anylizer. It doesn't got EU wifi channel 13.

    PS: Maybe I do a 5120 just for fun.

    Then I take some time off.

    PLEASE TAKE SOME TIME TO READ THIS INFO AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE AROMA OPTIONS

    Support for the 5100 & 5120 will follow later, don't ask for ETA!

    Don't complain if download isn't working as there is maintenance on the servers!

    • Stock Statusbar only.(Custom one removed as you can use xposed to get the same result)

    • New Kernel SphereEngine Rev2.0 based on new Samsung source release.

    This will be a final release for now until something new of samsung comes out.
    Maybe some bug fixes if needed.
    Rom , Kernel and recovery had been enough work for me so now it is time for a break as this is a hobby.
    I hope I gave you Note8.0 users what you wanted, I regret that there isn't much more development on this device.
    The things I did are the things that are in my capability and they are limited as I'm not a developer. Trial and error are how try to solve problems.

    That would be supurb. But what I don't understand is that most of the downloaders aren't even clicking the thank you button. And that costs nothing. It shows how this world is, dark and cold. Luckely there are still some people that do care and don't think only about themselfs.
    Even in some small thing like this, clicking a thank you button, you see the nature of the beast. Humans, the one thing this world could do without.
