Re: [4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID 3.00 | Only Rom on Android capable of Hybrid mode 02/16

This is my first time flashing PA so pardon my "noobness" lol.

Is anyone having issues with GPS attaining a solid lock? Also, any way to increase the speaker volume output?

Any/all help will be appreciated.

Thank you :)

Is the recording choppiness something that we'll have to live with or will there be a fix sometime in the future?

I also decided to this give ROM a shot and I'm having 1 big issue that bothers me and 1 small issue that don't. What bothers me (after formatting internal sdcard and doing a clean install) is that I had a few bootloops (after initial setup, and applying icons on Apex Pro for ex.), where pulling batt, and trying again to boot up was the only way to finally get my phone going. At least pulling batt (in case of a bootloop works). I haven't restored anything or flashed anything. Only installed UCCW and like 4 paid games staright from the PlayStore.

My other issue that doesn't bother me is that I only have 1 signal bar showing with "H" disappearing pretty often. I "almost all the time" have the signal full when running different ROMs. It doesn't bother me tho, because data is fine and speeds are ok.

Tried Maps and GPS locks fine here where am at in Pennsylvania.

Overall...I like this ROM. I'm still learning about different functions, but so far, I like it! I will play with it some more to see what happens.;)

Edit: I'm on latest build!

I left out the patch for the signal. It will be fixed next build. Sorry about that.

Will check out the AT&T section like you said Manel. Just curious, not a breaker in any way.... will you incorporate a "Tweak", or "Performance" section like in old PA, CM, and AOKP in the menu area? Just asking, I do have other ways.

The signal issue doesn't bother me in the least. I mean the truth is that I never look at it anyway other than for theming purposes. Im loving it. I especially love no boot loops. Excellent job with this Rom!

Yea, me too. Love your work with this device, just missed having PA from my S2 days. Saw what Manel was doing with this, and had to try. Never going back now, too happy with this.

Re: [4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID 3.00 | Only Rom on Android capable of Hybrid mode 02/16

When i sign into my gmail account and the phone starts downloading all the apps automatically, it gets part of the way done, then i get an error and they stop downloading. each app gets its own error that says "(name of app) could not be downloaded. (920).... but this is somehow messing with my account.
EDIT: even though clearing those things fixes my download issues, it doesnt allow me to redownload my purchased apps for free.
Take this for what it's worth if you're not going to be using the ROM. If everyone was having this issue, this ROM would not be as popular as it is.

With that, I had issues DLing from the play store at one point. I edited my model in the build.prop to SAMSUNG-SGH-T-889, rebooted, cleared market cache, and it worked after that. Google's backup and restore is notorious for having issues, so I almost never rely on that for restoring my apps.

Hmm...just noticed after you said this. Why does PA have my phone listed as the international version anyways? o_O

Because the ROMs are identical, I'm not going to make 3 ROMs for just a build prop change.

Ahhh, Lol... got it. No offense made good sir. Rom is amazing.

Anybody know what windows program to use to format

Our 64gig cards to fat32?

So far no luck with the 5 I have used.

Is there an app on the market place?

Re: [4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID 3.00 | Only Rom on Android capable of Hybrid mode 02/16

Haven't modded, or changed anything. All apps installed from Google Play Store. ..... and had my first Bootloop after restarting phone tonight. Only been about 10hours of the latest version running on my phone. It was a clean install as well, so I'm a little sad about this. I hate having to take the back off, and do a battery pull. Hoping this is the only one I get. I fear rebooting my phone now.

Rebooted, and went into a bootloop again. Luckily I delayed to put the back cover on. Booted up fine after that. :( Please fix, I love this rom too much to flash a different one. I got comfortable with PA.

I go days without restarting my phone, if you have to restart your phone numerous times a day then maybe you should try a different ROM.

Oh, wow... um....I was just letting you know the issue was still there. I wasn't insulting you. Rom itself is amazing, just saying I should be able to reboot my phone and not get stuck in a bootloop every time. I understand this in development, so that's why I was just posting that the bug is still there. I wasn't trying to offend. I think you're doing great work with this rom.

AOSPA for legacy devices (non-nexus) is still in progress. Consider this build as a early preview.

Please do not answer questions that have been asked and answered before, just ignore/report them.

    Removed

You should use TWRP and always wipe system
and factory reset before flashing and cache/dalvik after!

BE WARNED, 4.2.0 is not the most bugless android, the issues are known.

    FEATURES for 2.99,
    • Hybrid engine,
    • Per app Layout, this will let you choose the UI of any app, that means you can switch apps into their tablet layouts
    • Per app Size, scale apps individually, this is especially important if you use tablet apps, go as small or big as you like
    • Per app Color, this lets you select statusbar and navbar colors for apps individually, colors will shift when you jump from one app to another
    • Hybrid engine makes it possible to use any tablet ready app available on your phone, start with your regular Google apps and see what treasures lie hidden in them and just how well they work on your device.
    • You can use hybrid engine to use all available general interface UI's aswell: Phone, Phablet, Tablet. This is safe as milk, we don't change DPI, we don't trash your market, we don't shrink all your apps or force them into layouts, you don't need to edit system files for that.
    • Transparent bars and color pickers, new SystemUI drawables thanks to giannisgx89
    • Theming Engine
    • Statusbar Settings, Lockscreen Settings
    • Multiuser support
    • Quicksettings -> Quicktoggles
    • 4.2 Walls and sounds, Google stock apps
    • As we merge back our old CMPA feature catalogue this list will grow considerably over the coming weeks
    • New holo-styled theme chooser
    • T9 dialer
    • New papreferences app

Bro, if I had trillions upon trillions of dollars, I would spend whatever it took, exhaust whatever resources I could, pull every string I could grasp, to buy the entire internet. Then I would make it free to every creature and being on the planet that was able to type on a keyboard. Every monkey, beast, four legged creature with opposable thumbs or fingers would have free Comcast. They would also have an xda account as part of this free service as a stipulation. You, however, would be denied all access.

    Statusupdate 24-25 March

This ones a bit bigger so lets just get to the point,

Pa-prefs gets a new pop-up/dialog based interface. It'll be way faster to navigate when you visit the app list.

A new toggle will show you hybrid properties for each foreground app. You tap it and it will open up the same pop-up again. This allows you to change stuff for apps faster than ever before. We've cut out some nonsense like that forceclose dialog.

Pa-prefs comes in holo dark, brings lots of stylechanges and refinements.

PIE wont freeze pixels on nex7 anymore, it will not cause choppy recents. These troubles were from Android but we've found a way to fix them, without checking hw-overlays.

    Plus several bugfixes like always.
