Plastic over proximity sensor?

Hey all,

I've noticed a little bit of plastic covering my sensors on the front of my Gun Metal Grey M8, looks similar to a protective piece that comes on their when you get the phone. I was wondering if thats meant to be there or if I should try and peel it off? It looks out of place and I don't feel like it should be there...

No plastic covering on mine.

Mine has this too, if you look carefully under light at a specific angle, you can see an outline around the sensor.

Although it looks to me as if it's supposed to be there, perhaps it some sort of coating, who knows.

To me it looks like an insert that's part of the speaker grill. Certainly not a plastic covering. It looks perfectly ok to me, don't really understand the issue tbh
