short story short, returned my rooted S3 due to hardware issue and get a new S3 with stock 4.3 in the mail. Every time I try to root, ODIN shows success. After the device fully reboots at the end of the root process on ODIN, the status bar says another device tried accessing phone data and that attempt was BLOCKED. If this is a repost, please let me know and point me in the right direction!

I'm not sure it has anything to do with knox. If so, I couldnt flash the updated superSU binary using rom manager because of the unsuccessful root attemp.

I suggest using root66 and odin to root it.

I will try this as soon as I get done with classes today.

Sounds like it is a Knox issue.

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app

Tried this yesterday night and it didn't seem to do the trick. I even tried the battery pull method the OP suggested to another guy where instead of auto-rebooting with ODIN, I would disable that and battery pull every time. The point was to avoid any stock security data being redownloaded due to standard reboot.

Will report back after trying root66 method.

Sidenote Rage: stock 4.3 already started phantom rebooting within an hour of taking phone out of box
