Gonna reflash and redo my ROM since it's gotten abit buggy because of a failed app install. There was just a new modem released.. Which should I flash first? Rom then new modem, or new modem then ROM?

so, apparently ATT took the kernel from MA4 build and added the security fix... other than that, the CR MA8 kernel is 'newer" (but I don't believe has the exploit security fix).

Yeah, the exploit has 100% for sure been patched in the MA8 kernel. In all likelyhood the MA4 and MA8 kernels are essentially identical. I'd stick with MA8.

Easiest way would be to wipe cache/dalvik and reflash the ROM without doing a factory reset. The kernel is built right in.

I know it's built in but I really am trying to avoid a re-flash. Got this rom running tops and don't want to chance it and nands are so large.

EDIT: Thanks to SmiLey497 and RazzBot for confirming, the MA8 kernel (included in CleanROMv4.5) is already fully patched and includes the security fix. That being the case, and MA8 being the newer kernel, there does not appear to be any advantage of flashing the ATT MA4 OTA kernel on CleanROMv4.5 (unless it improves signal reception in your area).

About Installation
- Do NOT flash Mods or Themes unless they say CleanROM ACE 4.7.0 compatible!!!!
- Clean flashing is the only recommended flashing method! Anything else may lead to problems!
- If you have problems go back and wipe data and re-flash. Do not report in the thread until you do so!
- If you fail to wipe Clean or you choose to restore data / apps or anything else from back up apps like Ti Back up you will suffer from a seriously degraded experience!
- If you flashed a Mod / Theme or Kernel do NOT report any bugs until you wipe Clean and re-flash with only options included in the ROM!
- Do it by hand or dont do it at all!
Boot Animation Info
- If you choose Stock Animations then you can use THESE animations!
- If you choose Custom Animations then you can use THESE animations (or any other you find you like)!

Here is one for the road
NOTE: I update the Aroma Binary installer on this one and noted that out of about 15 installs (yes, that many test installs on a build of CleanROM) it would get to the install portion and just not install. A simple reboot into recovery and run the install again fixed. Still not sure if this is an Aroma issue a recovery issue. Either way I didint think it was a show stopper.
