Does Deep sleep now work on DooMLoRD's v2 Kernel?

I put the Advanced Stock on today as I wouldn't want to wake up to a dead phone from loosing battery overnight.

now dont quote me but i am guessing since this is based of the stock ics kernel, it would have all things which work in that kernel working in this kernel.

Any enterprising CDMA users try flashing this & DoomLord's kernel? Interested to get the Sony framework w/o all of the other Sony garbage. Do not like Sony's mod's to the AOSP apps one stinking bit!

I'm running it right now. Can get a signal, but as usual with the other Sony ICS ROMs, calls and data do not work.

I love this rom, great work!
Just some things: the UI theme is kind of mixed, you have Xperia S themes that barely change a thing, mostly stock ICS looks but then the contacts/phone are looking like Semc ones... Could you make total stock 4.0 experience, with the Contacts app, Music Player (use play music) and other things? And maybe then make a mod with all the xperia s framework, apps, themes? I'm not asking, just suggesting :)
Also, can I take out the notification toggles? How do I do that?

One thing I really miss is screenshot option in power menu.

Had a couple of reboots during my first 24 hours with this.

Just switched over to the latest DooMLoRD Kernel with WiFi today.

Still very impressed by this ROM. Look forward to seeing more updates...

Another thing, Can this be supercharged?

Yes it can but we need the rom deodexed first. I think that's coming later in an update.

Just wondering, what's Supercharge? I read online that it's a memory optimiztion mod and does it really work?

Also, battery life is worse on DooMLoRD's ICS Kernel compared to Advanced Stock, especially when idle. I'm losing quite a lot more (but still not very significant) when I leave it to sleep compared to Advanced Stock.
(But the kernel is faster too so I'm not complaining :p)

any fix yet on the video lags? thanks
Could you try DooMLoRD's new kernel and flash the updated adreno drivers zip, to see if video playback is better?

One bug I found is that after a few days, my notification bar has gone black, with no icons or text.

Thanks, we're working on this and the statusbar sometimes blank on boot

Thanks :) We are always looking at using better apps, so will check out those things you mentioned. Unfortunately the Sony contacts and phone are heavily tied into the framework of the beta, so would be hard to replace them with AOSP versions.

Hopefully we should have a more extended power menu, with more than just reboot, but this is still to do.
Supercharger changes are ready, we're just testing it to make sure it's working correctly :)

Still laggy even if overclocked UI is not smooth and slick and video is still buggy
We have some more performance changes coming, so should hopefully help there. Could you try DooMLoRD's new kernel and flash the updated adreno drivers zip, to see if video playback is better?

Supercharge is like ram manager pro which changes the apps priority and make the launcher so that it does not redraw and not lock home in memory, freeing more ram.

Are you using doom kernel v2? It has deep sleep while idling fixed.

I see, thanks!

Yep I'm on v2. But I definitely see my battery drop a little compared to Advanced Stock. I'll have to test it again over the next couple of days.

Great work to both devs!

after flashing doom's v2 my battery life is pretty much comparable to advance stock. only drain bout 1-2%/hr if that on lite usage. 1%/hr when phone idle. but yes this rom is very laggy. if i just finish watching a youtube video and exit. the home screen redraw drives my freaking patients. but i know the next update will fix a lot of these problems.

Thanks for the great work!

DONT BE A B!TCH HIT THE DEVS THANKS BUTTONS!!!!

This is a custom ROM based on the official Xperia Play beta released by Sony. This uses a full AOSP theme, with the Sony framework, so it can still be used for gaming with the touchpads. The custom performance improvements should show a noticeable increase in usability and speed, but still keep good battery life.

If you appreciate the effort or use this ROM, please thank both Atarii (this post) and thomassafca (post #2 below) as this is a team effort, with both working on it equally :)

    [ Update v1.2: ]

The 1.2 update is now available! This should have great improvements to the speed and the stability of the ROM. The V6 SuperCharger script really improves the speed and smoothness and no more random reboots were experienced during the testing! This was due to a lower value we used for the DalvikVM (hoping to improve multitasking), but actually degraded it. We're really happy now with the speed of this ROM and hope you guys notice the change too! :)

Included in this update is the new reboot menu, allowing reboot into recovery/fastboot from the menu. Hot reboot is a dirty method and not recommended ;p Also included is the HTC Sense 4 style recent apps menu. 1.2 update screenshots:

P.S. Not sure if anyone got the 'bird' reference in the picture? It was a roadrunner in snow! Roadrunner = fast bird, snow = ice (cream sandwich). Fast ice cream sandwich ROM? Bad joke :p

Thanks to evilisto and his mad modding skills
Thanks to hitman980206 for noticing the DalvikVM hiccup!
