Used idye poly, cant use rit dye anymore they changed their formula. Has to be a disperse dye in order to dye polycarbonate plastic. Just mix with water in a stainless pot and simmer. Check every 2 to three minutes till its the color u want. Takes about 20 minutes total. After words just run under water and rub with a rag to get the excess off.

Thanks, I'm assuming the black parts of the case are the silicone? They are not affected by the dye?
yes, it's the hard polycarbonate shell that's dyed, the silicone part seperates from the hard shell.
nice, i wonder if I could pull this off with the defender series without screwing up the built in screen protector lol. Might have to get creative!!
just push out the screen protector, replace it after words by applying a little adhesive around the case and reapply it. the screen protector will dye the color as well. also, it's best to do this on a white case, can't dye a black one at all.
Picked up a Nillkin hard case for ten bucks off eBay. Usually go for more protection, but this one's done a good job so far. I also didn't want something that put a stack of pressure on the sides of the phone:
Well worth the ten bucks, the included screen protector goes well also.

Had the poetic case...it's nice...but it eventually broke on me. The back of the case started to detach from the sides. I'm by no means rough with my phone so it didnt take much for it to come apart.

I just got my Nillkin case. Great fit, looks nice, doesn't add much thickness. The thing that bothers me is it's just as slippery as the soft-touch coating on the phone. Still can't get a good grip. I wonder if there's something I could brush onto the edges to add some grip?
Yeah... this is why I ended up purchasing the Incipio Feather case.
It has the same design as the Nillkin, which I personally love, but it comes with soft touch finish, which gives it much better gripe, in the hand.
I also prefer the gray color.
Only complaint is that they didn't provide a cut-out for the rear notification, but the same is true with the Nillkin case.
do you see it being a issue of the sides of the case scratching the bezel by the screen"??
