I've got a 2012 edition of the Amazon Kindle Fire HD (tate) which I love
. Unfortunetly, while doing a bit of DIY modding, I was forced to resort to using my handy fastboot cable. I can boot the tablet into fastboot, but upon plugging in my normal USB cable, my laptop tells me that "the connected USB device has malfunctioned, and Windows doesn't recognize it." I posted a thread in my device forum (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2750416), and this was the reply:
My question is: is this something I can fix or replace myself, or am I better off saving for a new tablet? If at all possible, I'd like to try and fix it myself, as it's been a sturdy and reliable little 16 GB tablet, and it's been there through the good and the bad of the past couple of years.
