I'm still having keyboard backlight issues as well. Also, is there anyway to get 1% battery and a text signal strength displaying -##dBm?

will edit the ICS prop in Stock. (the network value to 3 and wipe again)

lets se if at least it can stay on GSM.

I started the log right before I hit dial so almost the first line is when it crashes. I looked through the log and while I can offer only observations (which could be way off) I thought line 2106-2130 was interesting. I'm not sure if that is one of the causes or something but I see some of the same things when the phone crashes at the start.

Anywho, hope this helps! :p

For you guys that have alpha 5 up and running, did you wipe everything? I tried just wiping cache and it will boot all the way up and then within a few seconds it will reboot. I also tried wiping data, cache and system, then installing zip and gapps and then restoring data like I used to do for cm7 nightlies on my DROID but that led to the same problem.

Since we now have CM Settings I made some changes to automatic brightness. I always found it to be way to bright at night when I'm in any darkness (especially now that ICS has a lot more white to google apps). So I changed the light sensor levels and just want to share if people wanted to try it out.

I set my screen dim level to 1 and Allow light decrease.

I just installed this and am playing with it now. Anyone want to discuss live, or need some trouble shooting feel free to join me in #krazyk on IRC

Nice to see you here Krazy. Thanks again for helping me un-brick my D3 the long hard and manual way! (weeks before we had fastboot) Probably don't remember me, but I was the guy that had to replace EVERYTHING in my system and thanks to you and Ben64 all went well.

I wipe everything all the time, unless the dev specifically says it isn't needed. Wiping everything should solve your issue.

The only issue I've seen is with TiBu... I didn't see any of the backups I had made, about 5 minutes before flashing Alpha 5. It seems that Hashcode has changed up the sd card format again (gallery works fine now), and I'll have to tinker around with TiBu to see if I can get some of my backups to appear. Also, this is the first time I've ever been prompted to activate the phone... has this happened to anyone else? Not that I'm concerned (because everything works fine so far), but I've been running this ROM since Alpha 2, and I've never been prompted to activate...

Everyone who is restoring system data with Titanium backup should be aware that restoring SMS/MMS/APN config data will result in a forced reboot like whats described above.

Hash has made some APN config changes in beta 5. Ti backup will restore the old APN data and cause the reboots.

Use SMS backup or other alternative to backup/restore SMS.

Did you try in TiBu Menu > Preferences > Backup Folder Location > Detect ? That should get you the backups you need :)

If you go into the preferences for TiBu you can set the backup directory or have it scan for one. It should find your backups then.

I'm booting up a new build for camera testing as we speak.

It's been a long time coming just to get to this point.

KNOWN ISSUES (as of 2012-01-12 build):
    • GSM users have reported phone still FCs quite a bit. I have a solution for this but it's a work in progress and takes a long time to do (porting Motorola World Phone code to ICS from Gingerbread). I am sorry for the hassle, but usually a wipe cache/dalvik cache will reset your connection.
    • Mute button on calls doesn't work
    • Camera doesn't work
    • Codecs which reference the /dev/ion driver don't work (including audio only for Netflix)
    • Backlighting for keyboard and capacitive keys only works with "Auto Brightness" set: see here for custom settings http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=22637417&postcount=957
    • [NEEDS TESTING]Leaving Bluetooth on but not paired causes all audio to stop working on the phone. If you turn off Bluetooth then audio comes back.
    • [NEEDS TESTING]Bluetooth in general needs an overhaul. It does work to make phone calls, but that's about it.

    HANDY WORK AROUNDS:
    • For users experiencing high battery drain: goto "Settings" -> "Sounds" and uncheck "Touch sounds" and "Screen lock sound".
    • For GSM/WCDMA users who have lost 3G: enter *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer. Then goto "Phone Information". Near the bottom of that screen there's a drop down of network preference. For GSM-ONLY use GSM (PRL). Exit that screen and reboot the phone. Wipe cache/dalvik cache if you still don't get 3G back or have many phone FCs.
    • For GSM/WCDMA users who seem to boot up into an phone FC loop. Try removing "GlobalNWSwitch.apk" from /system/app folder. Is probably only useful for DualRadio models.
    • For a Gallery replacement use "QuickPic" from the market

CHANGE THIS TO FALSE TO DISABLE THE DUAL MODE RADIO

FYI: Fixed the links in the OP to account for the new home of files.rombot.org where the files are located.

Also, support for this build is mostly done as we are moving to the new KEXEC alpha. But I wanted to make sure that the links were still valid.

Alright, sounds good. I will flash it when I get a chance. Thanks!

In this case, I took the updated files from the official soak test (906) and pushed them up so that they are used in the D3 cm/aokp builds.

Jhiza has the right of it, sometimes you'll see minor improvements here and there. Will need some input as to how much of a difference the new binaries make.

NOTE: CM9 has added back in the theme system, and I merged that into last nights build as well. And updated the CM release tools -- flashing zips now tries to keep your gapps in place. So from the 5/7 build on, if you have gapps installed and don't need to update them, then don't re-flash gapps after flashing the rom.zip. THIS IS ONLY A CHANGE FOR CM9.
