Galaxy s5 not recognising sd card

I have a 8gb and 32 gb sandisk memory card and for some reason my S5 is not recognising them.

I have tried the 2 memory card in another phone and they work fine, maybe the memory card slot is faulty.

someone said the S5 will only accept a new memory card due to he latest software implication. is that correct

any help much appreciated.

Format it in your computer. Format it as NTFS for better performance, format it as FAT32 for best compatibility.

ive tried formatting on both methods. but still not working or recognising it. and cant mount it as its greyed out on my S5

maybe the memory card slot is faulty or damaged.

Try at least two other different brands of microsd. If they are still unrecognizable then your fear could be correct.
