Don't use OC at 125mhz.. If you do that, the phone won't wake when you recibe a call, and it will be directly a voice messenge...

Great news, congratulations guys!

However, how is it possible that we got Gingerbread for our Milestone? The bootloader is locked and there wasn't any secret leak (as far as I know), so I guess it's based on an 'old' Froyo kernel, isn't it? Secondly, is it possible that this ROM could enable swap space support?

Best regards, and keep up this GREAT work!

AWESOME!!! Delivers! :)

I'm sitting here in cold Russia and reading Motorola's texts about "we know that Russia is a part of Europe, but GTFO with your asking of 2.2 update". And today - YES, there are 2.3 on my Milestone! How do you like it, Motorola's managers?

About the ROM:
1. It is fast. Really.
2. Flash is working (thnx to pron from redtube for help in testing)
3. THERE ARE THE GREAT RUSSIAN LANGUAGE! Russian Market, Russian News, even weather is in Celsium by default. :)

Dark Side (ROM is great, but even Yoda has Dark Side!):
1. It is looks like the Launcher isn't original (stock) - I like stock launcher so it is bad for me. Now using AWDlauncher.
2. Some closings of Browser (maybe out of memory?)
3. On OC 125-100-low - CPU is so heat to scare my home bear - he likes coldness :)
4. Russian hardware keyboars puulleeeaaasee!
5. Frontal LED notifier isn't work :(

Great thanks to author. You gived a second breath to my motor. Now it is time ti troll my friends with iphones! :)

PS: excuse for my poor english

I have this game on VIVO leak and it run smooth
What are the advantages of GB vs. Froyo?

Hmm. Well compared to the Vivo leak, there's no app lag in this rom, and everything is much snappier. GB has better copy and paste, text selection, improved app management, and lots of interface tweaks. I'm sure there's alot more improvements under the hood as well.

Weird, I got email from google to activated samsung nexus s. :) anyone received this email?

Sent from my A853 using XDA App

I did too yesterday, and I can install stuff from market.android.com and its listed on the site's settings as Milestone A853.

This build is blazing, but a 10xx or so in Quadrant and I'm guessing thats without the stagefright tweak. However, in benches ONLY do I see a performance drop, with only a lower 13MFlops in Linpack but the snappiness is insane!

Running 1Ghz - 56VSEL.

It's snappy, but I'm having low memory issues (launcher being constantly killed even thought I think it's itsset up correctly - it's adw, will try LP as well).

Got the email too, it probably identifies itself as a Nexus S, as that's where the files come from :p

I'm trying to squeeze a little more available memory now. Those first releases were basically a very first alpha/preview. Now I'll be working on better tuning of these things.

The email about the Nexus S is probably because google/market might be checking for the fingerprint. I left the same as the Nexus S since it's the only oficial 2.3 available right now, so if there's any app specific for 2.3, it would show up on Market. :D

Battery life seems on par with later Froyo releases... Not much of a difference, if any.

This is a STRICTLY AOSP Gingerbread build for the Motorola Milestone.

Most of the credits goes to the amazing guys from CyanogenMod, nadlabak, f_pasha, mtwebster, rcerqueira, koush, MDijkstra, Skrilax_CZ, cvpcs and everyone else that had the patience to help me out figuring out how to put everything together.

To get it working for you, the baseband files for your region should be applied thru OpenRecovery as usual; you can get them at Dexter’s site: http://dext3r.komodin.org/.

Default language is set to PT-BR, change at the initial screen for your likings.

If you are currently using any Froyo release, you don’t need to do anything else, just copy the update to the OpenRecovery update folder and install as usual. If you’re not using any Froyo release, you need to apply a 2.2 SBF first.

Please note that FULL WIPE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for new installations. If you're upgrading from any previous SMBR Gingerbread build, you only need to wipe caches.

    CHANGELOG

    Build 7:
    - Updated to AOSP master branch, hundreds of bugfixes.
    - Fixed some issues with wifi (props to nadlabak)
    - Fixed color blending issues (mostly visible on scroll glow).
    - Fixed some video recording issues, now uses h264/aac for high quality mode.
    - Some changes on APN list for Brazilian carriers.

    Build 6:
    - More memory tuning. Now based on Google’s recommendation for low memory devices.
    - Zipaligned all Google Apps
    - Fixed light sensor (props to nadlabak)
    - Disabled 3D drawer again (will provide as a separate patch)
    - Added Nexus S wallpapers.
    - Several other bugfixes that might result in crash of the phone.

    Build 5:
    - More memory tuning. This should fix a plethora of problems (browser downloads, market, notifications, and so on).
    - Reverted to use a slightly older kernel (g4bc8ed0). Hopefully this will fix the reboots.
    - 3D drawer is back due to popular demand.
    - Enabled SIP over 3G networks.
    - Removed some unnecessary libraries from the system (used only by Froyo).
    - Fixed a couple of EGL issues. Nothing major.

    Build 4:
    - Skipped

    Build 3:
    - Fixed gps/compass (props to nadlabak)
    - Fixed hires video recording (cvpcs)
    - Massive memory tuning.
    - JIT is disabled again -- yes, your linpack will suck, but you'll get much smoother experience overall.
    - Disabled 3D drawer on Launcher2 -- too slow.
    - Removed the OTA updater for now to save some memory.

    Build 2:
    - Fixed GMail/GReader breakage, now it works as expected.
    - HSPA icon shows instead of just 3G.
    - Screen off animation turned on.
    - USB connected icon fixed.
    - Some memory tuning done.
    - Added full AOSP languages with dictionaries where available.
    - Added full APN list based on CyanogenMod’s.

    KNOWN BUGS
    - Starting the camera using the hardware camera button unleashes hell.

Sorry for the lack of news, but it took more time than expected to get settled on my new home.

Development will resume this weekend, so hopefully by the end of next week I will be able to get a new version out. :)

The good thing is that a lot have happened on the official 2.2 ROM and other developments, so B8 will probably be much better.

There's still a lot to be fixed, and again, memory tuning will take a while before it hits the "sweetspot". Since I do use the default launcher, it's less noticiable for me, ADW at least seems to not cope well with these releases. Might be a bug on either the ROM or ADW, I really don't know. :)

About an hour or so, finishing the release compilation and then, just upload. :)
