Here is a screenshot of apps I froze then eventually uninstalled. I also removed all Carrier ID stuff via adb. I also removed the power on sound from the media folder. Any Google Apps I used which were updated were converted to user apps (with the exception of play services, search, and the now launcher - those caused a lot of issues when attempting to convert them).

Hi I just bought this phone today and I'm unsure of what I can uninstall. All I know is I want to get rid of a bunch of crap like the T-Mobile apps and any useless LG stuff I'm not going to use. What is the difference between freezing and uninstalling? I've created a nandroid backup already just in case.

Freezing gives you a quick way to roll back an app for whatever reason.. Easily.

Thanks for that comprehensive list with screenshots....

As far as freezing vs uninstalling....

My thoughts are that you should at least freeze for a while and see if there's any unwanted side effects that pop up later...even weeks later.

I tend to freeze a few at a time and then wait a few days....freeze some more....etc. We have tons of storage so space shouldn't really be a problem on this thing right away....especially if you toss in an SD card.

Uninstall them down the road when you actually need the space....not now when you still have plenty of storage on your new phone.

And the FB app! Ha....I just use the mobile browser version. If you use FB a lot just make a shortcut.

Thank you in advance.

I've been using Titanium Backup to freeze apps so it did all of the hard work. You can also try to look in system/priv-app

FYI you don't recover the space vacated after you delete the system apps. Those apps are in the system partition, and that partition doesn't change. If you delete the app, the mb that is free afterwards is still allocated to system partition, it doesn't go into the data partition for you to use.

So while it doesn't hurt if you delete the app, you don't necessarily regain the memory that is freed from deleting it.
