my Google now is not working faster i tried it in galaxy s3 it is smooth im using quarx 31 dec rom i have minimal gapps installed from the quarx site offline voice recognition file from here and installed Google search from play store... can u help me

Gapps minimal does not work with Android 4.1.2 as it is for 4.1, you will have to reinstall the ROM

for install camera 4.2, I install zip on recovery, and after? fix permission on recovery or go to file manager system app and fix permission? thanks

Google now isn't really fast on the defy... If u look at the CPU from s3 u see why it's faster on it.

the files are the same. the minimal gapps pack from quarx work on 4.1.2.
I Think U mean the new minimal Gapps pack for 4.2 that isn't downwards compatible.
both work, but I think I had that script wrote with automatic right changing, i check it on Monday when my defy arrive from service center

what file is the gapps as i cant see it in the drop box is it SuperSU Install true CWM.zip as i cant see 1 called gapps also did try just the gallery apk file but would not install do i have to uninstall the old gallery to make it work ..sorry all a bit new to this would say that ginger bread cm7 yo me worked faster than cm10 my dile screen takes ages to come up also gallery now does not sync

the gapps are not hosted on my dropbox cause there are thousands of downloads and that's to many traffic for my dropbox, in the dropbox are only experiments. if u read the whole post ur quote u see at the bottom the hosts.
for the picasa support in gallery just flash the gallery with picasa support in custom recovery it does all things for u, or flash the gallery and keyboard from 4.2 it had picasa support too. I want to do it manual just copy the apk in system/app and set same permission as other apps.
if u think CM7 is faster than CM10, wait for Quarx CM10.1 with a custom 3.0 kernel.
but u had to think a moment about how many features in the CM10 and what resources are needed for CM10, CM7 need not so much.

Hey i followed the guide and used 20121224 without voice and downloaded the english voice pack. Flashed both from cwm. Linked as said using root explorer. but everytime i try voice it says could not connect to google

I have the same problem as the above post. To elaborate, when I go to Settings>Language & Inputs>Google voice typing, there is no option for offline voice recognition. I made the symlink from my sd card as per the instructions in this thread.
Also, can Quarx CM10 messaging app read text messages aloud when Pico is install? I can't seem to do this.

yes, we don't have a option for recognition in defy. normal u can download offline recognition data, but the defy is locked for this option, we need a hacked Google Now for that.

Same here. Wasn't Google now supposed to be free? And all the files needed in android os? So i get it CM10 does not include the files needed?

if we get copys of recognition data from data/data/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox/app_g3_models I can made zips for all languages. if I push the app in data partition on defy it not work. there is a ics Google now thread I test later with Epsilon build if I can get the data, but I'm busy at the moment.

Hmm, not i tried to look for the folder you say to link but i have no system folder in mnt/sdcard/Android.

after u have flash the zip the folder has to be there, i checked the zip twice maybe u need to mount sdcard in recovery before flashing the zip. I was to lazy for that code cause the most time the sdcard is mounted.

If i want only gallery 4.2. i try pack with gallery camera and keyboard, but camera is very slow. For install only gallery.apk?

158We all know that goo.im not so fast provide new update for the Gapps pack as Google outputs new Updates.
In our CM10 thread by Quarx i had provide two Updates for the Gapps pack, but the thread is long and u search endless for the Gapps pack.
That's why i provide the links in this thread for u, every time a System apk updates, i made some new pack (in three or four days) for u.

The BAKED inverted contacts? If so, it causes the dialer to crash, at least it does in PA. All the rest of the BAKED inverted gapps works just fine, but contacts has issues. If you have GooManager, you can quickly download and install them by going to Browse All Files>Devs>BAKED. Once there, go to inverted apps for GMail, Plus, GMusic, GReader, and gapps for inverted gapps.
The inverted apps can be a bit hard to install because you have to delete the respective app from /system if you used Gapps Full, but Gapps, Calendar, and Contacts are all flashable zips; and GooManager will reboot your phone, wipe cache\dalvik, and flash the zips. The only interaction you'll have in the zip flash process is selecting yes to wipe dalvik cache and rebooting the phone once your done.
Using GooManager is the easiest way to flash multiple zips. If you don't use GooManager, you should start using it cause its very helpful.

I'm currently using the justunbean quickflash v2.01 inverted gapps pack. Same problem... all other apps work fine but the dialer application doesn't install. I have another flashable zip for inverted contacts and phone 4.1 04082012 made by "Skylar" (I think) that does work. So by flashing it over the justunbean gapps everything works and is inverted
Everything else in this ROM is freakin' awesome!
BTW. I'm using red lens defy running Quarx latest CM10 defy+ on GB kernel (CM9 + Walter DHT-22).

No need to reflash rom, just flash over your current setup. You are probably best wiping both cache and dalvik to be sure. Reboot and you are done

just flash the Gapps, it overwrites the old gallery, and the needed lib's already include in CM10
or look in my dropbox i uploaded only a gallery update pack if u don't want new google now
