you don't have to flash radio, unless you want to try out some froyo romsi have one single question, why do i have to flash the radio? is it because of froyo?
My HTC Desire is a CDMA test unit and I'd like to put a 2.2 rom on it. Will the existing 2.2 roms for GSM desires brick mine?
Yes, I think so, all newer froyo roms need you to flash the radio, which wouldn't be compatible with your radio.
But maybe the older ones are working on your phone...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I am also using a vodafone card in it, so its not exactly locked but this is annoying not being able to use a Custom ROM
i went on to the step1-windows.bat
but in recovery mode im getting NO DEVICE FOUND
plzz do help me out helpers
There are newer methods to root phone, like unrevoked, that don't need goldcard.Because it is long time ago since I last installed custom rom on smartphone (HTC Diamond) i wanted to ask some questions.
On a german board I've read, that it is - at the moment - inpossible to root a branded o2 Desire. But here is a guide to root it. Is it correct that I first have to create a GoldCard (like on the first page) after that root it and if everything goes well i can install any custom or official HTC rom?

After you root him, be careful with further radio updates if your phone is locked to orange, some radio updates can simlock your phone
