Hello everyone,
I finally managed to make rooted kernel for Xperia Go (ST27i).
I just want to mention, that I have unlocked bootloader and I didn't try is this kernel working with locked bootloader.
Requirements:
stock Sony 6.0.B.3.162 FW
unlocked bootloader
working fastboot
How to Flash:
download the rooted_kernel_ST27i.elf (sendspace.com/file/74xilq)
save it in the folder with fastboot binaries (fastboot.exe files)
power down device
start device in fastboot mode (hold volume up and plug cable)
and use the following commands to flash the kernel:
fastboot flash boot rooted_kernel_ST27i.elf
fastboot reboot
After restart, download and install busybox from market, and update superuser...
I can't do this without:
DooMLoRD - I used his files from rooted kernel for Xperia P
Championswimmer - for tips and tool (ANDROID KERNEL KITCHEN 0.2.2)
Bin4ry - for tips
So, thanks to them
I have problem with mouting SD-card when i flash kernel on 184.
Try this, had the same problem with the SD card, solved it by doing this
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1839865
my complete SD card got corrupted had to reformat...
Any chance to upload the ftf files for .184 guys ... sony wont let me update lol
Being on a narrowband connection right now, I have little chance of successfully uploading 200+ MB, but if you have found out that Sony won't let you update, then you already have the necessary files on your computer and can make an FTF yourself. See here how: [GUIDE] How to make your regional firmware an .FTF file
That's how I updated my GO. Good luck!
problem is I tried to upload with the pc companion first not the SEUS
I used Sony PC Companion too, on my Windows 7 x64 system the path was C:\ProgramData\Sony Ericsson\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs
If you don't find it, just do a thorough search for a "blob_fs" folder on your drives. Try Everything if you're not using it yet. (I've just tried, and Windows Explorer has achieved the incredible feat of not finding the folder).

any idea what went wrong here?
first I flashed the 184 using the flashtool with my own ftf file as you helped me do.
now I have 184.
the bootloader has already been unlocked
and then I try to execute the following
fastboot.exe boot the_184_rooted_kernel.elf as suggested in the first post of this thread
and I get this message that you see ...
I see. Since the 184 kernel from this thread doesn't mount SD cards (as indicated in several posts above), it's not a good idea to flash it anyway. Try flashing this kernel instead and installing su and Superuser.apk as instructed there. That's what's now working perfectly for me.
Update:
Rooted kernel .184 (without recovery )
It's work for me
Flash last firmware 6.0.B.3.184 using Flashtool
Download attach, and flash the kernel:
fastboot flash boot rooted_kernel_184_ST27i.elf
fastboot reboot
I use this kernel for 3 days, and I don't have problem with battery drain.
But I will check when I get back from vacation (4 days) and also I will try to make new rooted kernel for firmware 184 and maybe recovery
should create a thread for development for xperia go.. so its easy for us to help in contributing to the development.:good:
