I'll wait for an OS only release and a mirror. I'm sick of this rapidshare crap already. One would think xda-dev is taking a cut of their profit considering how pervasive that crappy site is here.

It's the users that are uploading to rapidshare, not the site ops. Rapidshare is the quickest way for everyone to get the roms. Then, mirrors can be set up for them after that. Got it?

Rapidshare only allows one or two downloads a day before locking you out and demanding $6USD to proceed. There's this thing called bittorrent (have your friends/beta testers seed). Got it?

Is there an installation guide that i should follow? I have flashed with the xda live and that was simple to do just wondered what the situation was like with this rom?

Looks really good... glad to see the improvements...

I am not ungrateful. I like these roms very much, but let's see some foresight here! Instead of using a free network that would give incredibly fast speeds to everyone all over the globe, they go with a proprietary network that locks people out and demands money, even after providing a sub-par downloading experience.

I didn't mean to start a fight (who knew that this forum took the one-way allegiance to rapidshare so seriously?), but I do think that this community needs a MUCH better distribution method, especially considering the amount of bandwidth we collectively consume.

OK, but, where is a free network for us?

Like I said, bittorrent. We could use one of the many publicly accessible trackers and have the devs and their beta testers do the initial seeding. I know I personally would not mind having my desktop seed the latest ROM and I'm sure there are a great many people who would not mind doing the same.

So who's installed it? what's the memory like... program/storage space? is there any noticeable improvement from the previous version?

We use torrents too. I think that is better to got all possible alternatives (torrents, http, ftp, emule, etc.. not to be limited to only one.

So back to my original point which is why use rapidshare to initially distribute the file when there are many better and free alternatives that can be used. What are we arguing about, again?
