Thanks for the reply to this old thread and the ROM of course. My friend had this phone laying around so wanted to use it with freedompop after I update to your kitkat rom.

Ohh I see. May be that's why my computer doesn't recognize it. As per both of your advice I will update with OTA and than try again. I really appreciate your help.

Is there any working method at this date to get S-off just curious.

This is a very old device. You don't need S-OFF on it anyway ;).

Another hurdle while unlocking the bootloader. ABD drivers installed fine but when it boots into the fastboot windows 10 fails to recognize the USB
I tried searching and manually installed many drivers for HTC none of them worked. Any idea what should I do? I tried it with windows 8 and same thing. I was thinking of installing HTC Sync manager to install drivers but it doesn't support this device it only supports evo 4g LTE. Now I am thinking of trying it on a windows 7 computer, may be this weekend..

You need the old HTC Sync program to install the proper drivers for the EVO, not Sync Manager. I'm not sure if it's still available to install from HTC. Have you tried the universal adb/fastboot drivers from Koush? They should support most devices, including older ones like the Supersonic.

Thank you so much, I have successfully installed this ROM and it's working great. Thanks. However just for others who may try to use this Koush drivers didn't work on windows 10 or 8 for me but it worked perfectly on windows 7.

I have a win10 machine and the left side usb 3.1 want signed devices while the right hand side are USB 3.0. The 3.0 side works universally while the 3.1 side fails to autodetect older usb devices.

I know I had to remove them at some point to conserve space, but I added them back in. I wouldn't use the option on any version besides 3.0.0 anyway. So you need to get updated to that version and then you can go from there.

Twrp 3.0 installed put in a freshly fat32 formated sd card. 2048 ext3 partition 0 swap. gave me this error. Do I need to do something else to the sd card before I partition?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but i'm using this phone while i wait for the new Nexus to come out. I love this rom and the a2sd is awesome, but have no data connectivity? Anything i can try? I called sprint and they did an "air refresh", but still no luck. Thanks

Fixed my issue. I loaded a root OTA and did an update profile to get 3G working on stock rom then loaded 4.4.4 kitkat on top of it and now my 3G data works with kitkat.

    FFC not working
    Hot Restart causes wifi problems, & data. normal reboot fixes it.
    Menu settings will not work. widgets and wallpers are fine. just put a settings widget on desktop or use pull down.
    video recording is not working looks like it's not saving to sd.

    Q. I downloaded the recovery, Rom and gapps now what
    A.Frist thing you need to do is NANDROID BACKUP next flash the new TWRP 2.7.0.0 Recovery or TWRP 2.7.0.5
    next place the rom and gapps on your sd card
    next boot into recovery wipe everything except sd card
    next install zip from sd add the rom and gapps and swipe to install
    next reboot to system
    next setup google account and enjoy kitkat

    Q.Ok im up and running now what
    A. ok once rom loads and your done setting up google account
    set up viper audio by clicking the viper icon in the app drawer follow the instructions
    and it will ask you to reboot when its done.
    Once phone reboots you can enjoy viper audio in sound fx setting.

    Q.Does this Rom offer the use of IRS Starter pack for viper4android
    A. yes it does. you can add the IRS starter pack.

    Q. ok I downloaded the IRS sampler pack now what
    A. you must extract these files from the zip and put them directly in the VIPER4android kernel folder found in your sd card.
    so to do this extract zip, copy all files to sd/VIPER4Android/kernel. do not put them in any sub folders just place them in the kernel folder.
    then open the viper4 app from your phone and go to menu UI setting and choose expert. that's it now in the app you will see all your options including enable convoler. that's it enjoy

    Q.How Do I set up a2sd
    A.open terminal from your app drawer. Type the following
    su
    a2sd install

    it will run and ask you to move dalvik, then data your choice
    when it's done will tell you needs reboot. click yes and will reboot for you
    when phone reboots enjoy more space.


    Q.I see a new theme in the settings how do I use this
    A. yes in settings Themes choose black ice, when it gives you error for system size, just ignore and install anyways
    reboot when its done so that all the effects will take change. that's it enjoy black theme

    added a black theme in the settings under theme tab.
    when choosing this ignore the system error it gives and install anyways it will work fine.
    reboot after theme change for all effects to take affect

    lol, no sir, just fixed the a2sd in my 4.4.4 build. lol

    but I would like to get lollipop in here for these guys,
    think it's possible? have not even thought about it realy
    got so much going on with a bunch of other devices
    me and few of the other guys finaly got our repo setup
    to build for multiple devices cm 11 based with some
    nice extra features and mods we been adding in.
    I have a build for the m8, m7, m7spr, n5,kltespr, klte, and few others im sure
    im forgetting. but I would be willing to give 5.0 a shot on here. lol

    Yeah i had so many builds and files lol i was getting confused what was where so i deleted all of it and uploaded 3files required to flash.
    Just glad its all come together. Ty for the time you put into as well i no your evo is retired like mine but for the community as long as my evo works i will give what i can.
