No root accees after flashing c-rom ANDROID 4.4

Ive just installed android 4.4 on my i9000

however, I have no root access. applications which require root, claim I dont have any.
plus "root checker" shows I have no root.

should I flash via ODIN this? http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=788108
CF-Root-XW_XEE_JS7-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1.zip

or will it brick my device?

Have you tested under setings, setting apps + adb for root access with a reboot ???Hope it can help you ..

I use Cyanogenmod, hope it is similiar ...

Settings ==> Developer settings ==> Root access ==> "Disabled" does not be set ...

Have you done any changes in the setting? did you a reboot after changing the setting ???
