i seen that but didnt know how it would work. i was just trying to push them onto my phone. i am using the wrong string of commands or something

No problem! All I did was resize the photos to 480 x 800, changed the color depth to 8 bit, and fixed the desc file. Was not too bad.
i used that on my EVO running fresh with no issues ... easiest way .. forget all the manual labor with ADB

u would have to manually push or just copy and paste bootanimation.zip in its correct folder on phone
You would use this command after you have placed the bootanimation.zip file inside of the tools folder in sdk

What's the best way to resize so many photos at once? ...right now I'm using "Android Supernova" from OPs post which looks rly cool but is sized for a G1 :'( so looks kinda wack when I show ppl ...thanks!
I found a cool free app to do batch resizes, it's called Fotosizer. Just make sure you set the Filename mask to %F and destination folder to same as original.
I resized the metropolis one and edited the desc.txt to reflect our screen resolution, but's the bootanimation is blank on startup. If anyone wants to take a look at it and tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would be happy to resize more of these and repost them.

live wallpapers keeps FCing and rebooting me, where can I find the stock evo 4g livewallpaper.apk to reinstall? Also that android peeing on apple boot screen doesn't work for me, its just a blank black screen when I boot..

not sure how, but i did open a new thread with different types of this boot animation..i'll check into it now how to sign it...this boot anima is the gif posted above. on the other thread i made the same one without the droid part and new boot sound.
I updated the first post with a package signer, also I believe you only need them to be signed in Amon Ra's recovery and not Clockwork. Either way that package signer is easy to use.

I've seen a lot of custom boot animations that are scattered all over the place. Some are custom ones made for the Evo, some are for other phones, and some are just general boot screens.
I wanted to make a thread that is simply a collection of boot animations, not a discussion on their merits or questions about getting them to work. Please note that not all of these are sized to fit the Evo, and some will need to be manually reized to 480 x 800 for best presentation.
Please JUST POST BOOT ANIMATIONS with optional videos or images previewing them and NO DISCUSSION PLEASE. Thanks.

Enjoy if you decide to use. Grab the corresponding PC36IMG file to flash.
Added purple one as requested, remove the "-purple" part to flash in bootloader:

I do. I've attached the file below. Enjoy.
Basic install:
1. Download file
2. Copy to the root of your sd card
3. Boot into bootloader (Power off phone - Then press Power + Volume Down:: Should see a white screen with three little Androids)
4. The file will be autodeteced and asked to be installed (Volume-Up to continue)
5. Let it flash the file, after it's complete -- it'll ask to reboot.
6. Reboot and choose (No - Vol Down) or boot into recovery and REMOVE the file from your SD card, as you won't need it again.
7. Reboot your phone and your DONE.
