So.. I would like to preface this by saying this is very much an observation not a complaint! But so far my battery life has been solid but unspectacular.. 15 hours or so with fairly light use. I haven't really had a heavy use day to baseline. But I noticed today glancing through the battery stats that for a several hour period my phone was 'Awake' Ran CPU Spy for about 30 minutes and confirmed the phone was in fact not going into deep sleep. Battery stats showed Android System being 36% of my use.. far higher than anything, including screen. So I ran System Panel monitor for about 25 minutes, which confirmed 10% CPU usage with screen off.. but no fingering what app did it. So my conclusion is something ran away in my system that caused this.
So.. like most custom ROM's a simple reboot fixed this and it is happily deep sleeping again. But the nature of my job is such that I might not look at my phone for hours at a time. When these things happen in those circumstances it can kill the battery awfully fast. So I was just curious if anyone else had seen this at all or had any guesses as to what system process might be causing such a drain.
thanks,
