Just checked the vip page, mine now shows:
The GPS extension kit has been shipped
Yea!
Yep, I don't see the need to use the keyboard while navigating with the Prime in the car.
Of course there's generally no need! But if we just needed and never wanted, I would be a very bored man with no awesome gadgets lol
I plan to mount the Prime, keyboard and all, just so I don't have to go docking/undocking all the time (apart from the entire unit and the stand). Just move from using it in my home to the the vehicle seamlessly, just slide it in and have power from the vehicle (and perhaps after some h/w or s/w modding, automatically improved GPS ). Plus, I hate using just touchscreens anyway, so when not in traffic I have full functionality and a great, quick way to find whatever info I need (thank you tethering lol) on the go.
Same thing for using a 10.1" tablet for navigation at all, no one sees a need and knocks it as irrelevant or too much all the time. Doesn't mean it isn't useful, awesome, or the possible future standard: just means you're not willing to see it as such. But, you are of course just saying what's best for you, so I'm glad you're getting your needs (and wants! ) from the dongle. A rare few of us are still left out in the cold, but we're the few likely to mod even if the Prime had come in perfectly and as advertised lol
*EDIT:
Lol, I'm just submitted Looks like I'll be waiting a while. I spaced it and registered a day late :/
I hear you. Me myself I have never used any of my tablets as a gps device, honestly speaking is there really a need for one in tablets at all?? I figure that Apple (bad name to use here, I know) thought the same, this is why the wifi models come with AGPS only. In all honesty, i would bet that more than half of the people complaining about gps will probably barely use the dongle after a few weeks. My tab is just for games, movies, music and some work. If I need Google maps and GPS, that's what my phone is for
status of mine says: shipped!
Can't wait to get mine. My application date was 4/17.
It's just the screen-size and view-ability. I have to zone in on my 3.7" phone, and then actually using it is a nuisance because I'm a larger person, my fingers easily get in the way of seeing relevant info. Not so with the Prime, can get everything easily at a glance and work it without losing sight of the important information. Then there's the Super IPS+ so your info is easy to see even with sunglasses (hopefully, I'll be testing this as I've just thought of it today).
My phone is straight up telecommunications and a portable hot-spot for data (including GPS to the Prime ATM lol). I keep mostly all the same apps across the board, but honestly my phone is just a phone for me; that's what I get for a smaller year old phone though, I'm sure my tune would change if I picked up one of those HTC One X's or something
It's just easier to see and focus on. I've seen some older posters saying just this, they're using tablets as GPS devices because of eyesight and ease-of-use.
Besides, then when I get pulled over the cop can do a double-take at my superior mobile work station lol
WTH I applied on 4/16 and mine still just says submitted.
*EDIT* Ok so I think it is because I have a champagne prime. Has anyone received a champagne dongle yet?
I'm looking forward to a good ROM with Cornerstone so I can have one window with navigation, one with Trapster, and another with Slacker or Pandora.

I'm glad ASUS came up with a fix, but the fix doesn't allow you to use the dongle and the keyboard attached, or dongle and charge.
I know this has all been said before on other forums, but when you spend £500 on a device that includes a keyboard dock, you shouldn't have to expect an add-on to negates the keyboards use.
A good interim solution, but hopefully ASUS will come up with a better solution, or allow us to trade in our Primes against the TF700.
Thanks for the great post though.
