That is a hard one to answer since each developer comes up with a rom with their own tweaks and mods that makes them awesome in their own way. It is like asking is Ford better than Chevy. It comes down to preference.

Remember to wipe it until it bleeds if you go from one rom to the next. You could run into boot loops or residual code if you don't. If you just go from an older rom to an updated one (v1.8 to v1.9 for example) a cache/dalvic wipe should be sufficient.

It is the rom that has been modified a little here and there. When you run the install, you can select from different launchers to use.
It wont let me install it are there any other ROM's that are good?

I am running MeanRom ICS v0.91 with Leedroid Tweaks 4.3.0 and it is great. It runs smoothly, everything (3D, Wifi, 4G, etc.) working. I recommend test driving it.

Got a link to that ROM? What are some of the differences? Like why would one want to use a ROM that has been ported to the 3D vs. the VM leak? Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I can't point out every little detail, however, I ran CleanROM ICS (the one with Sense and the one without), ViperROM ICS, and two of the MeanROM's prior to 1.7, and each had little things that just didn't jive with my particular phone. I recall clearly the MeanROM having touch screen glitches (bear in mind my digitizer is fine, does not glitch on any other ROM). Whether they've been corrected, I don't know.
However, the most recent version for Booster Shot has had no glitches for me. Only downside is my battery life has returned to what it was when I first got this phone. It's not great, but, I live with it because my phone doesn't glitch and everything works, including the 3D camera.
As for the difference between this and the VM leak? Not too sure other than this is what I understand: the port took a fully functional system from another phone and is tweaked and made to work on ours whereas the VM leak was a leak that devs took and developed the ROM around the bare bones of the leak.
Sprint Wifi Hotspot has not been hacked on any of the 3d ICS ROMs (they fixed the hack used for GB ROMs). But, the Wifi Tether app works fine (when setup correctly) and is better anyway.
MeanICS has excellent battery life. I've used my phone about an hour today and after 16 hours off charger, still have 83% battery left (and I was at work with poor signal for 8 of those hours).
As for boosting signal/internet speed, I don't think so, but do not know for sure.

As for battery with Booster Shot, it's something chubbzlou is aware of and working on. I've been trying my own stuff and have found I get better battery life after deleting Juice Defender and System Tuner (sounds counter intuitive, but, I've been running my own personal tests to see if there are differences). With moderate to heavy usage, I am averaging 8 to 10 hours so far. However, after completely ripping out all of the apps and their associated widgets, I don't want or use (HTC News, News and Weather, Stocks, etc), my battery life is already better.

Definitely +1 this ROM. Ran everyone of these ROMS for more than 24hrs and I have stuck with this one. The SVN updates and logs are what drew me to this ICS flavor.

I like this ROM but the only downside is tat there are no names under the apps you add to the homescreen.

Almost every custom ROM I've tried has the secure text box feature. ZR3dX, homebrew, meanROM, d3rp are some good options.
