Best ics, for MS2, surely, I use it since the first version!
and do not regret, I will continue using it, now only awaiting the final update of the camera, so we can use the recorder normally!

excuse my english!

GB rom means I won't be able to downgrade if I go with this?
I'm currently running CM7.

Thanks.

I am glad to hear that somebody is still working for Milestone 2;)
However, will there be a china GB kernel version for it?
Also, will you create a changelog in the future (surely not now, as this is just the first release)

Thank you for your great work on our "legacy" device!

Very nice work! Testing...
EDIT: this nightly is so awesome, camera and video recording working very nice, VK too!
Thank you! Coming soon someone review :)
EDIT2: For any newbie, first install CM9 from tezet and then this rom. For fix signal, install Milestone2ToolBox.apk and go to baseband switcher

Waiting for chinese kernel as well. Rather excited since there hasn't been much updates for the milestone 2 for a while. Thanks OP!

All those who want Chinese kernel with this can follow these steps. These steps assume that you were previously on CM9 by Tezet with CH kernel. I have used these successfully.

1. Take a back up (complete or for just boot image) of your ROM.
2. Flash the CM9 Euro based zip available in the first post. Also flash google apps http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps.
3. Go to Back up and Restore->Advanced Restore->[Choose your back up based on date]->Restore boot.
4. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache.
5. Reboot.

You should have a bootable CM9 with CH kernel. (It crashes at first boot but after that it works fine)

Overclock

If you want overclock your device, here you go...

Flash this zip and done.

Configured to 300/22 600/32 900/44 1200/62 deepsleep 200MHz

You can change the configurations on bootmenu/CPU Settings and dont forget to save before exit

Any chance to upgrade to Jelly Bean? Porting JB to my kindle fire was really quick, it took less than 1 day. And everything is quick and smooth.

Since defy/defy+ has JB now(by quarx2k! very cool!), I am sure we can have it no problem.(a lot functions work on defy's JB now)

When? After I solve major bugs like hw keyboard&brightness on ICS.

Read first post: " not working: HWA (include Flash, Chrome)"

HEY GUYS , some great news for you all :D

DEFY has got complete HWA ( or HUI ) working on this locked kernel :D
everything including Chrome , flash player is working , it is as fast as any other official ICS ROM ( buttery smooth ) :D

if you guys can compile all those changes into ur rom , it would be great :D

nadlaback ( milestone 1 developer ) made this achievement of running PVR SGX 1.8 ( stack loader ) on the locked kernel :D

also to mention : FULL HWA is working on both FROYO and GB KENELS ( so it should not be a great problem for you guys ) :D
    11
Look like defy has HWUI on CM9 (at last on CM9 based on froyo kernels, looks like Defy+ and GB based kernel still have bugs)

The GPU is the SGX530 on a OMAP 3610 CPU (OMAP3620 for Defy+)
We have the same SGX530 but in a OMAP3630 CPU.

Is the solution applied by the Defy team be applied to our CM9 ?

Yes, it works on MS2 too, but there's a problem. Flash11 is not working with TI.720P.Decoder.

If I can bypass this problem, I will release a update version this weekend.

    Hey guys,

I had problems with running Chrome (10s crash) too and it seems I found solution:

FC Chrome, clear data & cache, then run it and DO NOT CHECK "send crash data" box (as it seems to crash app), just accept the conditions and then log into (or don't) your google account. My Chrome stopped crashing after that and it's synced with my PC Chrome.
