Right hi, sorry if this in the wrong section, this forum is huge! So the powers that be please feel free to move this if needs be, and please PM the link to ware it has been moved to otherwise I fear I would never find it again.

Now, onto the question:

I have a Desire S, and have never had great GPS, sometimes it works fine other times it wont connect for days, I notice sometimes if the camera cover is not fully seated this can affect it but even when seated correctly it is not great.

So I have done some basic googling and come up with two possible solutions, however I don't fully understand how to carry one out as the instructions are not great.

I am not computer illiterate, in fact I know my way round a PC reasonably well, but when It comes to Mobiles and android, my head is in the sand so I dont understand half of the term and whatnot,

I have come up these to via google,

First the homebrew hardware/mod approach, http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2311238 This may help with the camera plate not connecting fully (Its a well used phone)

I am hesitant to try that unless needed though.

WHAT I REALLY WANT TO TRY IS THIS:

However I cant understand half the terms, so could some of you more savvy people please explain to me how to apply this patch in laymans terms, DO I need to download softer onto my PC, What is rooting, how do I do it, do I need to do it? Roms???
How do I prepare the phone for ADB pushing?

I just need to know how to install this patch in a way that I can understand!!!

I see there are three methods so can you please take me through the easiest of them and how to do it, many thanks in advance!
