Aside from adding in the froyo support with memory tweaks,
what other additions would be desired in the next release?

Can I ask for a huge favor from someone. I just need this zimage put into a nbh. Doesn't matter the settings. I have ubuntu but since I don't have an internet connection to the machine I can't get all the dependecies satisfied. It would be much appreciated if someone can do this. Thanks

using your attached zImage with this nbhcreator results in a failed compile.

the nbhcreator uses very device specific code. mainly kaiser, polaris and vogue.

I am currently really busy moving to another state, but I will try later this evening to see if I can force it to compile. (...bypass the error checks)

however, even if I force it to compile, I am not sure it will work for your needs.(due to the device specific settings)

I am unfamiliar with the HD2 so if you could point me to your settings that you use I can see if I can create a version specific to your device.

What are the exact settings you need and I will try to get them for you

the settings I use are based off of this tinboot
http://androidhtc.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb-index.cgi
which builds for vogue, polaris, and kaiser.

is there a git repo setup for building android on hd2?

a quick search on the hd2 forums shows no sign of the hd2 running android from nand.

No it hasn't been done yet and I am working on it but the nbh is the first step. The git repo is here http://git.linuxtogo.org/?p=groups/mobile-linux/kernel.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/htc-msm-2.6.32

Thanks

ya, I found that repo right after I replied the last time.
yet I found nothing there to help make the HD2 settings.

I tried to force your zImage to compile to nbh but it wouldn't accept it.
no matter what I tried.

I fear that this is going to take a bit more than what I can do to get this to work for the HD2.

Actually a working tinboot for HD2 would be all that would be needed I think, since this is at the heart of the whole nand setup for android, and provided you have the correct MTDparts information, it may be possible, however tinboot has been available on our nand'able devices for some time, I cannot believe no one has looked into this before now?

However that said, if it does work, then it should be possible to get it working for various devices that only have Haret available just now.

Have you had a look through this thread on tinboot? http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=614275&highlight=tinboot it contains a fair bit of technical information on tinboot.s

I have been very busy lately but I will have the next release ready in a few days.

I have added froyo support, memory tweaks, and override settings.

if there are any other features you would like to see, feel free to request.

wow thats strange...

What resolution are you using?

I tried changing to several screen resolutions on my laptop and
none of them change the way the program looks.

maybe it is xfce? I am on gnome desktop (standard ubuntu 10.04)

I will fix this ASAP.

Edit: confirmed... xfce is the problem.
not sure why that would make a difference but I will fix it so it will work.
in the meantime if you want to still use it, you will need to switch to gnome or maybe kde.

I report the same problem using uBuntu 9.10 gnome desktop, there must be something else.

May be could you simply make the main window resizable ?

I tried to make rpm and it seemed to work OK...
but I need to add files for it to work.

.debs are easy. just open deb with archive manager and add files.

I am not sure how to do that with rpms...

I will look into it and post when I figure it out.

Unless there are any new advances in nbh development
or if someone has issues with this latest version of NBHCreatior,
I will be focusing on the cross-platform version.

As for how to program it I am looking at MonoDevelop.
it seems to be suitable for this and I played around with getting the GUI setup today.

However, I am new to C# and .net so I may be fooled.

if anyone has any other suggestions Please do suggest.
my background is mainly in BASIC and its varieties.

Fixed Window issues...
Great thanks.
I still have a question : Now, I can select the zimage, but the output appears on desktop (not possible to select an output folder) and is named as the distribution chosen (eg Froyo) with no date stamp nor extention. (regardless of the option chosen). Is this normal ?
I don't have flashed my phone to test (don't want to risk a brick if I did something wrong).

None of that sounds good at all...

I will look into that immediately.
although I am not sure where to start being that I confirm everything
works for any device, any build and with any setting.

output folder should be selectable
date stamp should work
and I have no Idea why it would use disto as a filename...

Like I said it all works for me.
I am on ubuntu 10.04 gnome.
are you still on ubuntu 9.10?

I am going to try on my wifes computer she is still on 8.04

other than that I did delete some erroneous files in the last build.
that may be the problem...
but I am still confused on why mine works perfect then?
