The battery champ indeed. A few weeks after. Revisited.
In follow up testing the battery has held it's max voltage and mAh rating weeks later.
It obviously takes a lot longer to get a full charge but if you think about it the last 10% of your charge cycle is the longest as the battery nears capacity. So a quick charge still leaves you with more capacity by far then the stock.
Had the phone out with me today and off the charger at 6 am. Used it to make 4 or 5 calls, some texts, some surfing for a while and it's still at 90% 12 hours later.
I've actually had 1 1/2 hours sleep in the last 3 days and took the phone on a marathon usage run for 23 hours surfing, calling, texting and playing a whole lot of Words With Friends over the 23 hour period that it lasted under strong usage.
With moderate use this battery is definitely the weekend warrior that it claims to be. It stayed cool to the touch and worked as advertised over the testing period.
I have gotten used now to the double thickness of the phone and the weight is somehow reassuring but alas all things change...
I walked in the door today to a new 2430 mAh ECell Gold Lithium Polymer battery, shipped from England, that is currently being maxed to capacity on the universal charger. (I'd rather it not go on fire IN the phone if it is going to.)
Looking forward to taking it through it's paces over the next little while and although I don't expect 2430 mAh out of a slim stock sized battery I will be happy with 1800 mAh or so. It would be a nice balance between size and longevity.
I have no experience with lithium polymer except for in the new MBP so we shall see what this technology brings to the table.
Be prepared for the next instalment of the extended life battery collection with the ECell Gold 2430 mAh lithium polymer slim battery.
Coming soon...
