I'm more interested in the OnePlus One but since both have the Snapdragon 801 processor, I'm curious if it'll allow better battery management if the feature is available.
Does the Snapdragon 801 in the SG5 have the ability to double tap to wake?

If I can use double tap 2 wake in my S4, absolutely you could use it in your S5. I use Echoe Rom. It includes this feature. It is incredible.

yeah but the dt2w kills your battery an extra 2-3% on idle. i have dt2w on my Nexus 5 and it's such a battery hog.
The dont have it built in. Oems like HTC and LG have to build into there software. For example the Lg G Flex att just got an upgrade that face it the knock knock feature. So unless oneplus puts that feature in your are stuck with kernel implementations

i'm sure the oneplus one will have those kernel implementations. from what i understand, the kernel just needs to use the hardware.
