Anybody who unlocked VIA HTC-Dev lost "/data/preload" to flash the OTA successfully after unlocking, follow these steps. (Make sure nothing else is missing from system or data, additions should be fine)

Pull the preload folder from the OTA zip, push it to "/data/" and set the folder permissions to: rwxrwx--x

Flash the stock recovery if you aren't running it. (Flash the firmware.zip, it includes the stock recovery, instructions are above.)

Now accept the OTA and enjoy. :)

I'm s-off and took the update. I forgot to make a note of what the previous software version was, but here is the new one.

Where is the OTA saved? I don't see it in /cache or /data/data/com.android.providers.download/cache

I think I deleted something from /system/app before after getting s-off to remove some bloat.

I updated the firmware with the recovery and dropped preload into /data/ and rebooted and accepted to install now on the OTA notification. It rebooted to the ruu screen and gave me a red error image.

Probably from the /system/app deleting I was doing.

Confirmed working. People - leave out the hboot and flash this firmware with stock recovery. Once you finish doing what you're doing just reflash TWRP.

There is a dropbox link to a TWRP backup of the original stock ROM in this thread.

If you want to take the OTA, simply restore system and flash back to stock recovery. You can remove the bloat again after the OTA.

I just freeze the bloat for now in Titanium so that I can take future updates until more custom ROMs come out.

All your data will still be intact.

can someone pull out the recovery.img from firmware? its not letting me into the zip

Stock recovery can be downloaded in this thread. It's the one I used to take the OTA.
